This is a place of iconic history. A diner like you see in movies. The owner Sandy and all her staff are every meaning of the word hospitable . I live 100 miles from Ardmore in Dallas, Texas and I don t let a month go by without making the trip just to enjoy the experience of dining at the Hamberger Inn and I have been doing so for close to 60 years. Absolutely the best old fashion Hamberger in America not to mention their French fries, chilli and pies. If you are within 100 miles and would like a real treat of true Americana, make the trip to the Hamberger Inn in beautiful Ardmore, Oklahoma.
This is a great old fashioned burger joint. The burgers they serve are what all of the new chains (hmm hmm five guys) are trying to taste like but fall short. Imagine this, a perfectly cooked burger patty on a well seasoned grill, a mound of thin sliced fried onions, simple mustard, and a toasted bun, all in a plain paper wrapper. Follow that with their homeade hand cut fries, skin on. That is what a burger was meant to be, and what you will get at the Hamburger Inn.
This is a real Icon. Americana of this stature is going by the wayside fast. There is NO other burger like this anywhere. It's worth a trip to Ardmore, Oklahoma to eat there. I'm 55 and I have been eating these since I was 2 years old, and they were a nickle each. I have dreams about eating there.
I would drag my body through lava, icey waters or starving animals to get to this place!! Best burger I have ever eaten, anywhere, ever. I drool now, just thinking of those fried onion burgers, YUM YUM. Oh and it is the cutest little diner.
