I recently brought my family and was hoping for a quite place to spend with them, and the staff there really took great care of us. They made it so all of us could face each other, and didn't pressure any of us to order big bottles of wine or loads of starters, which was a nice change of pace to feel like a home, not a business. I personally had a great time; my family loved it as well.
This is me and my wife's favorite place. The food is great. I usually get the Chicken Fried Steak but sometimes one of the other steaks which are also great. We usually leave so stuffed that we boarder on being miserable :)
The service has always been wonderful. My wife and I really like the atmosphere. Because the restaurant is fairly small it is one of the VERY FEW places left where two people can sit at table and talk to each other without having to yell. Although the place is nice, one does not feel out of place wearing just jeans and a nice shirt.
The place is a tad pricey. It is easy for my wife and me to drop a hundred bucks just for the two of us (but that is after getting appetizers, wine, entry, and dessert). And don’t be fooled by those who talk about the price of the Chicken Fry. Sure, it is Chicken Fried Steak but it is a GREAT cut of steak. Not your regular Chicken Fry but rather “gourmet” Chicken Fried Steak. Despite being a bit pricey for this frugal dinner, the taste of the food, the service, and the atmosphere make it well worth it.
We called & made reservations for our company Christmas party in September for a private room. We confirmed the reservations 2 weeks before the party and tried to pay a deposit. (they did not want a deposit) When our party arrived, they had lost our reservation, and then argued with us about ever having one. After waiting for apprx. an hour, they seated us in a public room at 2 seperate tables. They were out of alot of menu items including all of the steaks listed on the menu but one. The steaks that we did get were not cooked right and we did not get the right side items. Our waitress had on a black dress that her butt cheeks hung out of and everytime she took a step, bent over, or walked up or down the stairs, you certainly got more than you bargained for. I'm sure this is a nice place for a dinner for 2, but I would NOT suggest it for a larger group of people. (there was only 18 of us)
The experience was pretty good overall. Everyone in our party was pretty satisfied. We all agreed that The Boulevard Steak House in Edmond was a lot better. The steaks were pretty good but not great for the price. One thing we couldn't believe, and are still shaking our heads over, was the size of the creme brulee. Two of us ordered it - and when it came out it was in this miniature baby cup looking thing like you would put a very small scoop of butter in. It was not enough to fill a small spoon. Seriously, we thought it was a joke or a sample taste or something. I cannot believe we didn't say anything to the waitress. And that is all I know. Happy eating to you!
Classy restaurant that still lets you smoke in the lounge area. Good ventilation. Hard to find in Oklahoma City nowadays.
The salmon appetizer was OK, small portion for the price. The entrees however were pleasant in size and flavorful. The wine was fabulous.
We didn't know what to expect... overall the experience was one that my boyfriend and I will repeat.
The specialty dishes at this Bricktown Mexican restaurant are unlike anything you will find elsewhere. For instance, the Los Mejores
de la Casa is a combination of filet medallions wrapped in bacon, and shrimp stuffed with Monterey jack cheese ...
Oklahoma takes chicken fried steak very seriously. It has even been named our official state meal, and you will know
why after eating at this restaurant. Located on busy 39th Expressway, this restaurant stands out. Just look for the ...
