Ingrid's is beloved amongst the residents of OKC. Home to hearty and authentic German fare, you will never leave this place hungry! On the menu you'll find a variety of bratwurst sausages and German sandwiches (think Liverwurst or Blood & Tongue - this is the real deal!). The Schnitzel platter comes highly recommended. In addition to lunch and dinner, Ingrid's is also a popular spot for breakfast. Order the Smoked Pork Chop, which comes with two eggs, oven roasted potatoes or hash browns. Don't forget to swing by the pastry counter on your way out for a sweat treat!
I have lived in OKC my entire life (age 64) and had never heard of Ingrid s before today. I went there today with a group of people for lunch. I found it to be a very pleasant experience. The line was long, but went very quickly. The staff was very efficient and we were served our food quickly. I ordered the turkey w/Gouda sandwich with a side of pasta salad. I would give the sandwich 4 stars out of 5 (the crust on the bread was very tough) and the pasta salad was good but the pasta should have cooked just a tad longer. It was a bit chewy . I bought a couple of the desserts to take home for later. They had a HUGE assortment of very delectable desserts. What stood out the most to me though was how very friendly the staff was. They seemed genuinely happy to be there and ready to help. Which is rare this day and age. I would definitely recommend Ingrid s and I plan on going back there to eat. Maybe for their Sunday Buffet Brunch!!! Thank you Ingrid s staff for a pleasant dining experience.
The wife & I were regulars @ Ingrid s. for many years .We have moved to Tenn. & make sure we visit Ingrid s every time we come to Okc. It s the standard by which we compare specialty baked sweets now.My grandparents owed a bakery when I was younger and Ingrid s takes me back to those days of sneaking a good cookie or brownie at the family bakery. Fresh bread smells bring back so many memories. Good food & good people what else do you need.
I wanted to rate this a 5 but just couldn t as I had heard so many rave reviews.
I have been here before and just had some desserts that were ok. Then we stopped by 2 weeks ago for the 1st time for a meal. We ordered breakfast and I had an omelet but it had no flavor at all. My daughter had french toast and when I asked how it was, she said it really has no flavor and I hadn t even told her my thoughts on the omelet. I got a piece of cherry pie to go as a woman just raved about it in line. I expected my husband to say how awesome it was and after he was finished I asked if it was good and he said it was ok, I ve had better and wouldn t go out of my way to get it again . So maybe it was a bad day? I think we will give it one more try, but will try lunch or dinner as breakfast wasn t anything to rave about by any means.
My Husband , our two Granddaughter s and I went to Ingrid s this morning for the Father s Day Brunch. We have eaten there before but was our first time for the Brunch. We were a little leary at first there were people wall to wall , people standing in line and they ran out of plates so people were lined up thru the restaurant waiting for the plates.
Once more plates were brought out it seemed to go pretty fast and smooth. The food and the staff were amazing. We had our two young Granddaughter s with us ages 3 and 6 and our waitress was very nice and made them feel welcome to.
My only upset of our visit was we had finished our meal and was working on dessert talking with our Granddaughters. Our waitress kept coming to our table and picking up dirty napkins silverware that kind of stuff didnt think much of it. At one point she pulled a napkin out from under my arm....Then another employee comes and starts washing the table. I looked at my husband and I m like WTH ? So we are talking and right next to me is an employee standing with a wet towel....and the waitress comes back and say s yes we are not trying to run you off , but those people at the door are still standing their waiting to be setted at their table and it s this one.
I was shocked that we were told that. Kind of felt like ...Oh you ate now get the heck out. First of all we had a reservation and if we want to set there and visit for 1 hour or 2 hours that is our buisness. And maybe I could understand a little more if the restaurant would have been packed at this time , but it wasn t. At this time there were many empty tables. So still a little confused about the whole deal. Not sure if we will return or not.
Hi Maggie, you are not using right meat for schnitzel, this is a joke. You should try veal to make a real German Wiener schnitzel. If you want to keep using pork then PLEASE DON'T call it a Wiener schnitzel. You should also work on that potato salad and that brown gravy(Gosh what was that?) Thanks Petr from Munich
I have been to Ingrid's Kitchen several times and absolutely love it!. I love the Rogelli (spelling?) bread and their sandwiches. My favorite dessert is the chocolate eclairs with cream filling....They are WONDERFUL! The cakes look wonderful but I can't get away from the eclairs to try anything else. I would recommend this to anyone-the restaurant is clean and service is quick. And it's quiet enough to visit with your friend or family.
Husband and I decided to try Ingrids today for a late lunch/early dinner. He ordered the smoked bratwurst plate and I had the Reuben. Delicious on all accounts. I also had the shrimp bisque. Didn't care for it too much, I didn't know what to expect. To me it was a thick potato soup with shrimp flavoring. The side of bread was good though. Husband doesn't like kraut or cabbage, so I ate his and he should have have gotten two brats. He had for dessert white coconut cake and bought an eclair to go. I got the sugar free brownie. Again, delicious. Huge assortment of desserts, and nice for us diabetics having the sugar free brownies and the sugar free white cake. Could be more selections, I don't know because I didn't ask. Very casual atmosphere, deli style ordering. Noticed it was clean. Not very busy at the time we went but seemed to have plenty of seating. Will probably go back if we happen to be in the neighborhood as it's a 40 minute drive from our home, but well worth the drive.
