Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant

Description

The specialty dishes at this Bricktown Mexican restaurant are unlike anything you will find elsewhere. For instance, the Los Mejores de la Casa is a combination of filet medallions wrapped in bacon, and shrimp stuffed with Monterey jack cheese and a strip of jalapeno pepper, all grilled. But if you are not feeling that courageous, the restaurant has all the regular Mexican dishes too. The motif comes from a hotel in Laredo, Mexico, and you will love the authentic Mexican feel of this restaurant.

My wife and I decided to eat at the Abuelo s restaurant at bricktown, OKC and we had the worse dining experience ever. A server took our order and told us that Jula was going to be our server because he had to take care of a party. The server, Jula, never came to attend to us and when we complaint to the Manager, Jula and 5 other servers were standing by the door, looking at us, laughing, and Jula was gesturing as saying she didn t care about our complaint. When we told the Manager about what they were doing, the Manager acted like there was nothing wrong with their actions. Anyway, she never came to our table, even after we paid for what we ate. Very dissapointing.

The restaurant is decked out nicely. Too bad about the food though. Very bland! Perhaps it appeals to the average Oklahoman but I found it unappealing.

We love going here. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The food is always fresh and yummy! One of the best places in Bricktown!

There are so many Mexican Restaurants in the area, don't waste too much time here. The food is average. Not delicious and not poor. Just average.

Its not all its cracked up to be, the food isn't that great, and its overly priced, if you want real authentic Mexican food, go to Los Dos Amigo's in Norman.

Folks, Just an aside to the review. Laredo is not in Mexico. It's in the USA. Nuevo Laredo is in Mexico.Right across the Rio Grande. Larry

Great atmosphere, good food, in Bricktown, reasonably priced. The biggest drawback is you have to pay for parking now. This is a good place to take an out-of-towner to show off Bricktown.

I am from Michigan, but I was visiting with friends and they took me to Abuelos'. I was a little skeptical at first but right when I walked into the doors I knew that it was going to be amazing. The food was great the service was impecable and the setting compares to no other Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. If you're ever in Oklahoma and want a spectacular place to dine look no further then Abuelos'.
