Grand House China Bistro

Description

Enjoy tastes from an extensive menu of Chinese cuisine in warm and quietly elegant surroundings. Conveniently located in the heart of Oklahoma City, Grand House Asian Bistro offers lunch and dinner selections and a full bar, including an extensive Martini list. Grand House is also the only restaurant in Oklahoma City to offer traditional dim sum on weekends. Dim Sum is a family-style meal where the diner selects several small plates to sample until they have created a meal. At Grand House, food choices are brought on trays to the various tables, including pot stickers, dumplings, roast duck and much more. Grand House also now offers sushi. The restaurant has a large sushi list including many traditional favorites and new specialties.

I think its funny how people say they found a bug in their dessert, when actually, the dessert isn't even made there. It's brought in from an outside restaurant. So if anything, it's not Grand House's fault "if" you really did find a roach in your dessert, it's the restaurant it was made at's fault... This place is wonderful for great Chinese food, the staff is very friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone. Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt and look at all the great reviews, not THAT many people could be wrong, right? Right! My husband loves the Mongolian Beef and i'm a huge fan of the Spicy Chicken (we, of course, being dinner eaters here, never been for Dim Sum, yet). And there is just something about that steamed rice there, it is wonderful! Just try it, once...you will enjoy it. :)

Their stir fired beef flat noodle is the best. I also love their steam fish as well.

I have been visiting the Grand House for dim sum for years. They have the best dim sum in Oklahoma or Texas. I’ve had dim sum in Shanghai, LA, NYC, Boston, SFO, Vancouver, etc. – The Grand House is the real deal. The dim sum is fresh and generally consistently good. OKC is lucky to have this place. Go on Sat or Sun for dim sum . . . this is a must.

Mu Shu Chicken is the best I've ever had! Very friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Most entrees are between $7-10. Can't wait to try the sushi next time!

Wonderful food and service. The food was fantastic, and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. They have great sake and some of the best sushi I have ever tasted. Pricing was great too. For 4 adults dining on a FULL lunch (with Sake), the bill was less than $90. I will recommend this lovely restuarant to all of my friends and family, and will be returning soon!!!

Contrary to many positive reviews this place has received, I have had numerous encounters with bugs, hair, dirty dishes, and food poisoning. By now, you're wondering why I kept going back to this place after one or two instances of aforementioned experiences. I kept going back because many have said that this place is a great place to eat with good food and entertainment, so I've revisited with friends and families, only to regret later on. Of course, I don't go there anymore, but here's a couple of examples regarding its cleanliness and the owner's attitude towards it. I found a piece of hair in my food and when I politely informed the owner (who happened to walk by because I wasn't looking for a free meal), she said "Oh..." then walked off. She didn't apologize, she didn't take the dish away, and she didn't even offer an explanation why there was a piece of hair in my food, which clearly wasn't mine or any of the guests who were sitting at my table. Prior to that experience, I bought their dessert, took it home, and when I took it out of the package, found a baby cockroach. I took it back the next day and asked for a refund. The food was never consumed, I didn't even cut it or touch it, it was in its original condition and all I wanted was my money back. However, the owner kept insisting that I exchange my food and refused to give me my money back. He was rude and I felt very uncomfortable.

Great dim sum
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/1/08
Grand House serves dim sum every Saturday and Sunday, and it is wonderful. The cuisine is authentic, and the atmosphere is very nice. The restaurant is located in Oklahoma City's large Asian district, so the restaurant is always packed with locals. You'll like everything you order.

Good service. Great lunch specials. Express lunch is quick & cheap. about $4.95 for a choice of four items plus soup & rice. Lite lunches are around 3.95. Pleasant atmosphere.
