They only had two waiters on at the time and it was packed but even still we didn't have any problems the food was phenomenal and the ice tea was so perfect. The sandwich I had was so nicely put everything about it was AMAZING I definitely recommend The Mantel!

We went to The Mantle on a Sunday evening. We were so disappointed. We ordered the special steak, mine without the blue cheese sauce, it came with the sauce on it, I did not complain and scraped to off, it took about 50 minutes to receive or meal after ordering, I also ordered a White Zin which the waiter said they were out of. When we ask about the price of steak he offered he said he was not sure but it was just a few dollars more than the menu steak. Mind you we had no wine or any drinks just tea and we recieved the bill it was 182.00 for 2 dinners and we both had a dessert. Those steaks that he could not remember the price of were $55 a piece and mine was terrable because I hate blue cheese. Never Again, I have have eaten at the finest resturants in Houston for less than that. Elizabeth

We were looking at menus in Bricktown and came upon The Mantel and looked at theirs. It stood out from the bars close by and so we stopped for lunch. We had a very attentive waiter and the food was quite good. Definitely a place to repeat when we are back in town.

I went looking for a quick place in Bricktown to grab lunch while staying at the Hampton Inn. What I found was a local gem! The restaurant was quiet over the lunch hour, with only one server and an owner tending to guests. Service, however, was above average, with great recommendations and attentiveness. The meal started with a unique parmesan bread with a spectacular dipping sauce to compliment. Unlike anything I have had in other restaurants. My meal choice was the Seafood Linguine, with fresh scallops and shrimp. Cooked to perfection! They serve a nice portion that I could not finish due to the wonderful bread. My only disappointment was that I could not stay longer and enjoy my fabulous meal with a glass of wine from their impeccable selection. The Mantle will definitely become a staple in my travels to OKC!

The Mantel seemed to have potential but it was a pretty big disappointment on our anniversary. When we arrived the hostess did not have our reservation and was very rude about it. I understand there is a similarly named restaurant nearby but I had researched different places and know which restaurant I called. She had no reason to question me when we arrived. For their mistake we were placed next to the kitchen and entrance with no apology from anyone. Ordering went okay and we received our appetizer but then it took forever for them to find the wine we ordered. Then things just got worse, the waitress brought bread without the famed dipping sauce because apparently they had run out of bowls. My husband's steak was supposed to be done medium but the outer portion was akin to beef jerky. My steak was excellent but the side potato was dried out. During the meal we never saw our waitress once, I don't like to be asked about my meal but we poured our own wine and ran out of water during this time which, with the apparent caliber of The Mantel, I assumed would be done for us. This all was aggravated by the fact that with the reservation mix-up we were placed near the kitchen where a leak had occurred and all the waitstaff were cleaning up and talking loudly. Finally we ordered dessert (it was after all our anniversary). We received our dessert but my husband's espresso never showed and his tiramisu was still frozen. When we asked about the coffee 20 minutes later the waitress had just flat out forgotten. We did get the coffee for free but by this time we were just fed up. Too little too late I guess. The Mantel just did not meet our expectations for the caliber restaurant we thought it would be. We will not be returning and would not recommend it to a friend if we were asked.

I have been to this restaurant a number of times and have not been disappointed once. The food is always delicious, the ambiance always perfect, and the waitstaff always professional - with the exception of a very young hostess a time or two who really should have been wearing more appropriate clothing - or should I say just more clothing. Anyways, the food is wonderful. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for someplace romantic to take their date. It is pricey so plan accordingly.

I have been about seven times with my wife. My first time was New Years 2007 and that day the Crab cakes were the best that I have ever had. However, lately the chef has been passing off over cooked crab cakes, I say if it is crispy chicken colored brown, send it back its a hockey puck. If you ask they will replace it, I haven't had a problem yet on the second try. The lobster bisque absolutely defies comparison... I am honestly surprised by each and every spoonful. I have been all over the world and have not found better lobster bisque then the Mantle. Entrees I like the duck and lamb they stand out the most in my mind. I am personnelly not to keen on their specialty seafood, risoto in a martini glass. However I have talked to other people who like it. Mush just isn't for me. All in all, it is a great place to bring the wife.

My ex-husband and I went here a while ago. It was pretty expensive but very nice. Really elegant atmosphere and live music with piano. It is a nice romantic place. Rose on table.

Went to the Mantel for a Birthday dinner with 10 people. 6/10 meals were well below par. Service this night was poor even though it was not crowded. While the main portions (steak/chicken) were very sub-par to the point where people did not even eat the meal, the apps. were amazing! It was expensive but the atmosphere was nice. I will not be going back due to the price and the sub-par food. Jake
