If you go there on a weekend and order their brunch, DO NOT get anything with hollandaise sauce, unless you like spicy foods. I got the eggs Florentine, and they were terrible. The eggs were overcooked and the sauce was way too spicy for me. My friend says it tastes like they added a Thai spicy hot sauce to it. I sent this complaint to the company contact site. The decor of the place is nice. Too bad my brunch was so bad. The dessert cake was marvelous.
Very good food for the price. Their bistro is decorated in a neo-african modern style and is classy, for Norman anyway. Sandwiches are great, pasta salad is fresh and seasoned well. Their iced tea is fresh and they always give you a refill. I once downed 7 glasses in one sitting at dinner and it was refilled without hesitation. Pastries of course are good. The waiters/waitresses are generally very positive and friendly.
Forget subway, you can get a sandwich here for the same price that tastes 10 times better.
I've never had a problem with service here, but then again I haven't been in about 6 months, and I've never eaten there. I always get take-out. Everything from their bakery, including sandwiches, is DELICIOUS.
I will never eat at the Main Street Location of this restaurant again. A friend and I were eating lunch here when I discovered a baby cockroach in my pasta salad. I quietly put the bug in a napkin and approached the manager. She looked at me as though I was crazy and told me that it was rosemary and proceeded to brush the bug into the floor. After picking it back up, re-examining it and seeing LEGS and EYES, I told her that I wanted a refund for my meal. She acted completely put out and acted as though I was the crazy person. AND THEY KEPT SERVING THE SALAD!!!!!!! DISGUSTING. The thing I am sad about is the fact that I actually loved the food at this restaurant, but if this is how they respond to such allegations, I will not be a patron to their dirtiness. I failed to report this incident to the county health department, but I am warning everyone now, if there is a baby cockroach, there is a mommy and daddy cockroach, and most likely a lot of brothers and sisters. I attempted to handle this situation in a calm manner, and the manager was a complete JERK!!! Stay away from this place!!!!!
My husband and I have dinned here several times, we are huge fans of french food. We love the price and menu selection, especially if you go for lunch because you get such a great value. Also, the interior is very nice, the seating, lighting and surfaces are well thought out and allow you to relax and enjoy your food quite nicely. Sometimes the staff is a little clueless, I had to return a salade twice before I got a fresh one, but I have also had great service there too, so I continue to go back and tell everyone about it. They have a great bakery and store inside in case you are craving a baguette or mille feuilles! I wouldn't call it a cafe so much, unless they added some outdoor tables, which would be nice. (May Ave. location)
Very nice food. Forget Panera or any of the other corporate sandwich shops. If you want a real sandwich that actually tastes good, put the car in park and go into La Baguette. They have a nice bistro and in the evenings have an upscale menu which is delicious and the portions are good. The desserts, well what can you say, nobody does dessert like La Baguette. If my stomach was bigger I would eat a dozen of them at one sitting. Their breads are heavenly, and the service is courteous.
