Tarahumara's Mexican Cafe & Cantina
Look for the bright pink building and you will know you've found Tarahumara's Mexican Cafe & Cantina. The brightness doesn't stop at the exterior, as the whole restaurant is decorated in bright, bold colors and art that all evoke the feel of a Mexican hacienda. The menu consists of specialties originating in the Mexican state of Chihuahua with dishes like the chuletas , pork chops served with a special green sauce. All their shrimp dishes are especially popular like their shrimp cocktail or the camarones al mojo de ajo , shrimp cooked in a special garlic sauce. Order a margarita or Mexican beer or soda and grab a seat in the colorful dining room or the pleasant patio.
We have been loyal consumers since Tarahumara opened. We have found the food authentic and of excellent quality day after day, year after year. The wait staff is attentive, the food well and quickly prepared, and the adult beverages of high quality. The owner has a strong sense of community and gives back to Norman. He also updates the menu regularly and provides plenty of Tex-Mex dishes while maintaining the traditions and flavors of the Chihuahua region in Mexico. The single one-star review below is completely inconsistent with the return customers and packed restaurant at all times of day. The restaurant's location is an asset to east Norman, its proximity to Norman Regional notwithstanding, because the east side needs thriving businesses.
Besides the Bone-head below who rated this restraunt a one star I have never ever heard any bad experiences about this place except for the wait. The food is excellent. Probably the best Mexican food I have tasted in OKC area. The Fajitas if you have a clue of what you are comparing them to are fantastic too. Salsa and cheese salsa are outstanding too. You won't be disappointed unless you are the competition having to keep up with this place.
the food tastes just like every other generic and tasteless mexican restaurant i have encountered here in oklahoma. and they have recently raised their prices so enchiladas (that aren't worth it) are now 12 dollars or something absurd. i have also gotten sick from the food there twice. this is a very popular place to eat around here, but i dont personally know anyone who actually likes it haha
Often go here for lunch. Probably the best Mexican food in Norman with very reasonable prices and excellent staff. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for great Mexican food. The service is really quick!!
I love eating there but i tried to call in a to go order and with only two dinners to call in the girl could not comprehend my order and left me hanging for several minutes of quietness without even saying hold on. she asked me over again several times what i was wanting to order and never listened to a word i said. i finally just hung up, someone needs to teach her how to take a to go order.

The specialty dishes at this Bricktown Mexican restaurant are unlike anything you will find elsewhere. For instance, the Los Mejores

This is one of the easiest courses you will find in the area. The fairways are flat with very few
trees to block your shot, and the course itself is pretty short. This is a great place for beginners ...
