We ate here on Sat night. I read the reviews and we decided to give it a try. The waiter was kinda rude not to bad I guess. They don't have many choices but they are pretty good portions and my ribs were pretty meaty. you have 2 choices of sauce it all comes dry. I like the sweeter sauce. The beans were pretty good. The chicken was kinda dry needed the sauce to add both flavor and and moistness. Over all I probably won't go back but it wasn't terrible.
WORST TAKE OUT SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! We stopped at Bubba's on our way back to our hotel after a long day. Based on the reviews we thought we would find a great meal. We were tired and didn't want to eat in the restaurant. We just wanted to take the meal and go back to our hotel. We placed our order and I specifically asked if there was sauce in the bag. The server told me there was sauce in the bag. When we got to the hotel we discovered there was no sauce in the bag and absolutely no sauce on any of the sandwiches. We chose to take the meal back and see if we could get it corrected. We get to the restaurant and after telling the same server who waited on us what the problem was three times she said she would get us some sauce for the sandwiches. I asked her what she was going to do about the cold food. Her response was I am getting the sauce. At this point I was not going to eat a cold sandwich with cold sauce because of their mistake, so I asked for my money back. She didn't know how to do a refund so she had to go get somebody to do it. I had to again explain the problem to him. He didn't believe me so he proceeded to open up the containers and see for himself that not only was there no sauce on any sandwich in our order but that there was no sauce in the bag. He offered me some sauce for the sandwiches. Now why would I want sauce on cold sandwiches that he had just handled? I told him I wanted my money back and would go somewhere else to eat. He reluctantly refunded my money. I will never set foot in this restaurant again and would recommend that others stay away from it as well. If this is the type of service they provide, I don't know how they stay in business.
Have been quite a few times. I am from the KC area and have had all the local favorites here. IE Arthur Byrannts, Gates, as well as being involved with the KC royal BBQ a few years. Bubbas has to have some of the best BBQ around. I am not sure as to the poor reviews of some. I did happen to see mention of another local BBQ so maybe some of the low comments are from the competition. Bubbas is world class BBQ.....I have enjoyed all and everytime I visit Eureka it is a must. One real treat if you want go for a real joy is the half or whole smoked chicken with the hotter sauce,,
to die for....
Unfortunately we will not return. Both of us felt ill (indigestion for me, vomiting for him) after eating some ribs from their combo/sampler offerings. I believe the ribs may have been sitting under a warmer too long.
BBQ at Bubba's was pretty good, not the best I've ever had, but would definately eat there again our next trip to Eureka Springs. Love the atmosphere of the place and everyone was friendly. Cole slaw and beans were tops!
Lots of us locals go here cuz its close by, quick, and cheap. But, as for good BBQ, well, it's not the best, no. Portions are small, and food is dry and not well-seasoned.
Barbecue?: Well, for Eureka Springs, this place MIGHT have the best barbecue sandwich. If you want the real thing, you aren't going to get it around here. I recommend that you go to the Basin Hotel Balcony and try their barbecue sandwich. Ask for the cole slaw to be put ON the sandwich. Very Good.
Decent but not 'the best' by a long shot. Ribs were under-done and had to be gnawed off the bone. The pulled pork was better, but was served warm not hot. Sides were pretty good.
