Fred's Fish House, Mountain Home

Excellent food, great service. Eveyone is so friendly and hard working. We never have to wait long for service. It is a family run business and you can tell the family cares about their customers.

Went there for the 1st time in 11 yrs this past weekend and the service was excellent we had a party of 7 and a baby and it was packed we only waited about 5 mins. to sit down. We had the big down the windows so we had a beautiful view of the Lake. The servers were very kid friendly which is good for us since we have 6 kids (7mos -15yrs) and the food was excellent and the price wasn't bad for all of us to eat. It was around 60.00 for us all to eat and we had sooooo much food we couldn't finish it all. We got catfish, coleslaw, hushpuppies, baked potatoe, pickled tomatoes,onion and pickles for 10.00 . What a Deal!! A very kid friendly place. And their kids menu they got fried shrimp and fries for 3.99 and there was alot of food and the others got 3 pieces of catfish and fries for 3.99 the kids also got coloring sheets and suckers. We will be back every time we are in town. You gotta try it !!!

Fred's is one of my favorite restaurants in town. The catfish is always good and the hushpuppies are to die for. I also loved their stuffed crab and New England Clam Chowder. The view is okay but much better at Gaston's but the prices are higher and the drive is further there. They also have good waitresses who provide great service.

The catfish is pretty good, and the hush puppies are excellent. Problem is, the service is deplorable, and the manager is a genuine unlikeable human being.

I have made the trip from St. Louis to Mountain Home many times and always make it a point to go to Fred's Fish House. It is the best catfish I have ever ate. Always hot, and always tasty. The portions are huge. I don't get the couple of negative reviews at all. I guess there just isn't pleasing some people no matter what. I even drove over one time for lunch while staying in Branson, MO. It was well worth the long drive. If we had one of these in St. Louis, MO it would be very popular.

Fred's is the best seafood resturant ever. I hated seafood and now I like it. But I can only eat it here......

great place to eat! If you are in the area, I would recomend eating at this local favorite. The menu has choices from Prime Rib to a variety of fish. Catfish is the specialty, but I LOVE the hushpuppies!! I eat there every time I get the Chance!

I don't need alot of words to describe the catfish at Freds. YUM!

Just came back from a trip to Arkansas and a friend recommended Fred's Fish House for dinner. I am not a huge fan of fish, but this restaurant was by far one of the best I've ever been to! The cole slaw is fabulous, the appetizers plentiful, and the main courses delicious. I had the surf and turf with coconut shrimp, and the shrimp were the best ones I've had. The catfish was very good, especially with the cajun seasoning. Dessert was also great. Try the homemade peanut butter pie if they have it. We were able to sit outside in the patio area which was clean and offered a great view of the water. The service was friendly and fast, and the owner made sure to check in personally with the customers during their meals. If you're in the area, you won't be disappointed with Fred's Fish House!
