So we go to this restaurant because I love southern country cooking and it was written up in Southern Living, so it had to be good, right? Wrong! The waitress who seated us was talking to one of her friends on the phone. She never even looked at us and just dropped off 2 menus and some silverware at a table before walking off. During the meal, she never once asked if she could get us anything or whether we were enjoying the food. The food itself was decent at best and underseasoned. Most of the food lacked salt, the mashed potatoes weren't creamy, and the fried fish wasn't crispy.
On the positive side, the fried chicken was pretty good, and the pumpkin muffins were excellent. That's about it. We didn't try the fried pies, but they sounded good. Will never go back again.
