Horizon Restaurant, Holiday Island

We ate here the first night of our honeymoon. We knew nothing about the place other than it was near where we had rented a cabin and thought we would try it. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. The filet was so tender you could cut it with a fork. When asked for recommendations, the server made some excellent suggestions. We had a wonderful seat next to the window and watched the progression of the sunset throughout our meal. Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic ambiance! Good value for the price. We will DEFINITELY return when in the area.

I love the whole atmosphere at the Horizon! The owner, Theresa Torgerson, is amazing and does it all! I have to say the chicken alfredo is by far my favorite dish! I would recomend the place to everyone!! I travel 1 1/2 just to come eat here!!

Absolutely the best sunset dinner ever! Great meal, great wine, great service, perfect setting! So romantic and lovely! A quick 1 hour drive from Fayetteville, Arkansas--it's totally easy for a Saturday night dinner.

The service was very poor and they made my wife and I feel like we were an inconvenience. We arrived around 7:30 pm and had made reservations a couple of months in advance and also prepaid. This was part of a package we made through Lake Shore Cabins (Lake Shore Cabins was very nice). When we arrived, we stood at the counter waiting to be seated for roughly 10 mins...the waitresses saw us but continued to visit with guests. There may have been 10 other people seated at the time which was no where near their max capacity so they were not too busy to seat us. After we were seated, they continually ignored my wife and I and paid more attention to certain individuals who they appeared to already know. I had to shout at the waiter a couple of times to get service. The food was luke-warm at best. I have thought over and over as to why we where treated so poorly. It was either becuase we had prepaid and they were trying to do as little as possible (trying to maximize profit)....or they prefer to associate with familiar patrons. We will not go to Horizons Restaurant again.

We had our wedding reception there in June of 2004. We had about 60 people and it went off without a hitch! The food, service, atmosphere, value, and the view were spectacular. Everyone had a wonderful time, and we received many compliments on our choice of reception sites. We look forward to going back for dinner and reminiscing about our very special night.
