Love it there very peaceful and serene
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/28/11
I pretty much grew up at Holiday Mountain Resort. I spent almost all of my summers as a child up there, swimming, fishing, a playing the creek. True it is nice as most people would like but I love it there! There isnt much phone service down there, but when the office is open they have a phone in there that you can use. The office staff is pretty awesome, they will help you out the best you can. It is extremely quiet there, and secluded, and just all around beautiful! You get to wake up to the fresh mountain air every morning. The first time I took my boyfriend there which was last year, he loved it! We in fact went back like three more times before the summer ended.

Customer Service VERY POOR!
By Susan, 10/25/10
Very unhelpful staff. Even on the phone before we came down they were not helpful answering my questions. Should have known. The Chalets as they call them are mobile homes in very bad condition on the outside. Towels were yuck, sheets, comforter, bed YUCK. Furnished with torn up yard sale furniture is what it looked like. VERY disappointed. No wonder they don't have pictures of the inside of this. Left wtih a very bad taste in our mouth. Will never stay here again!

Do Not Stay Here--dirty
By Terri, 9/1/10
rude, unprofessional owners, be ready to tote your own canoe no matter how old you are‎ - ‎ -we have been going to this place for the last several yrs and recently we used a coupon for a two night stay. ALL other times, over the yrs, the canoes were easily accessed at the water's edge with the guests only having to carry the paddles and life jackets down the steep hill to the water. this time we were told WE would have to carry the canoe down the hill to the water and back up when done. my husband and i are both disabled and that didn't seem to matter to the owner(Vicki). after some consideration, we checked out, BEFORE the stated check out time(11am), only one day early, as it was unacceptable to lose access to the canoes and the cabin we were in (#18) did not have an oven or much of anything else that was up to par. the cabin was dirty and smelled of mold, PLEASE do not take children here. the pool has NEVER been open on any of our visits and the grounds are unkept and overgrown. most pictures on the promotional material and their website ARE NOT the facility, but the blanchard springs caverns, some miles from the cabins. with the staff they have i do not understand why it is in such rundown condition. it is NOT a 5 star facility as it advertises. when i asked for my one night refund, from Vicki, due to not being able to use the canoes, i was told it was a two night coupon and they would NOT be making a refund..so needless to say, that will be the last time we stay there and i WILL tell everyone i know that is looking for a place to stay, that THIS IS NOT THE ONE. I will make sure to leave reviews on any and every site i can find to deter anyone else from being taken advantage of like we, good loyal guests, have been.. very proudly, TERRI TESTER

Favorite weekend spot year round!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/09
I love the resort. My husband has been coming up there for the last 15 years with his parents when he was younger, when we got together he brought me up there and it was a really nice pretty relaxing place and we became members and the workers there make you feel so welcome like you are family! Love being members and think anyone would really enjoy it and should try it sometime if you get a chance!

Tent camped here from Thurs thru Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend 2009. Thursday was wonderful - campground about half full of trailers - had the bathhouse to ourselves. Bathhouse is done up in particle board - I believe this is due to issues with spring flooding - showers needed paint - but were clean. Pool area was immaculate. Check-in process was awkward - as we got there after 6pm - and had to walk down the hill to get the gate code. Only a few campsites had grills. There were no fire rings (we were told they were washed away in spring flooding). We had to put our tent on the gravel because they were trying to keep the grass from getting killed off. Friday and Saturday the campground filled to capacity - and became noisy. Bathhouse didn't appear to get cleaned and was looking very rough by Sunday morning. Discovered the only time you're going to have hot water is first thing in the morning - forget a 5 pm shower unless you want it chilly. Location is pretty - right on a stream. Conveniently located about 5 miles from Mountain View (Walmart, restaurants, gas station, etc). They take reservations - this was a huge plus over a holiday weekend. I would think going during a time where they aren't packed to capacity would be beneficial.

Long-timer, been going since can't remember
By Kathy, 5/29/08
I have been going to this location since before it was a private resort (23+ years) It has made some improvements over the years but not many. I read the other reviews and hate to say they are right. The owners are not nice but the staff is. The camp ground is run down and in bad need of repairs. (even before this recent flood). No sense in trying to take a shower because it gets so hot in the bath house that by the time you dry off and get dressed your so sweaty that you have to shower again.I would not recommend anyone join. I would suggest they shop around for a place that takes more pride in what they have to offer.

Not my place to camp!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/07
We had received a 7 day free camping package from the dealer that we bought our travel trailer from. From the description in the phamplet it sounded like a great place. I was very disappointed when we arrived. The scenery was pretty but the whole campground is run down and not clean at all. The bathrooms are not air conditioned and the walls and ceiling only have particle board on them. The showers looked nasty and needed to be repainted. There was a sign as we entered the campground saying they were a Coast to Coast affliate and were a 5 star facility. This is misleading to people.
