Do Not Stay Here--dirty
rude, unprofessional owners, be ready to tote your own canoe no matter how old you are - -we have been going to this place for the last several yrs and recently we used a coupon for a two night stay. ALL other times, over the yrs, the canoes were easily accessed at the water's edge with the guests only having to carry the paddles and life jackets down the steep hill to the water. this time we were told WE would have to carry the canoe down the hill to the water and back up when done. my husband and i are both disabled and that didn't seem to matter to the owner(Vicki). after some consideration, we checked out, BEFORE the stated check out time(11am), only one day early, as it was unacceptable to lose access to the canoes and the cabin we were in (#18) did not have an oven or much of anything else that was up to par. the cabin was dirty and smelled of mold, PLEASE do not take children here. the pool has NEVER been open on any of our visits and the grounds are unkept and overgrown. most pictures on the promotional material and their website ARE NOT the facility, but the blanchard springs caverns, some miles from the cabins. with the staff they have i do not understand why it is in such rundown condition. it is NOT a 5 star facility as it advertises. when i asked for my one night refund, from Vicki, due to not being able to use the canoes, i was told it was a two night coupon and they would NOT be making a refund..so needless to say, that will be the last time we stay there and i WILL tell everyone i know that is looking for a place to stay, that THIS IS NOT THE ONE. I will make sure to leave reviews on any and every site i can find to deter anyone else from being taken advantage of like we, good loyal guests, have been.. very proudly, TERRI TESTER
