We hit the White River area of Arkansas about 3-4 times a year... and the first place we eat is Club 178. It's a 400 mile trip for us, but once we get to the area and get unpacked... we're on the way to Club 178.
Fantastic food, great drinks, linen table cloths and napkins, servers that know their business, in an atmosphere of quiet elegance... topped off by the fact that dinner is less than $20 (incl. a drink).
And since I eat a lot in Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, and a host of like places... I know of what I speak.
You can't beat the Sunday brunch anywhere! The price is extremely low, (Gaston's could take a tip from the 178 Club). The food is wonderful. The pecan syrup they have to put on the waffles reminds this southern girl of pecan pralines. The selection is great. It is all so tasty you have a hard time deciding what to eat. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault.
