Loved the Shangrali room, private, wonderful balcony view. The breakfast was really nice, fruit and yogurt parfait with french toast and bacon. We ate at the attached Bluff steakhouse the night we arrived and were very disappointed in the service. The food was good, however, the service was slow and horrible. There is probably no incentive to provide good service as the gratuity is automatically added to your bill depending on the number in your party. Everyone seated in the area had to listen to a group of customers argue with the server as they ordered alcoholic drinks and then attempted to locate someone several times to take there order and after an hour they decided to leave and the server advised them that the policy is that they must order food as they had consumed alcohol. The customers noted that this was not displayed anywhere and was not in the menu or on the drink sheet and the server argued for awhile and then advised the customers they could just leave if the promised to never come back. We had to wait an hour and a half for our food and we had reservations. We were told when we left that the person in charge took in too many walk-ins and it caused chaos. For the money we paid I will not return to the restaurant again as they did not seemed concerned that customers had to wait and many were quite upset.I am not a complainer and travel frequently but I felt there was no excuse for the lack of service.
We went last year for our 10th anniversary. Our room for beautiful. The owner made us a basket of food that was really good. They were extremely nice. My husband had a steak while we were there and said its the best steak he had ever ate. We will be back. Well worth the money.
