I have been a huge fan of this restaurant for years, but the service has declined recently. My most recent experience was the worst yet. I took a friend to dinner on a recent weekday after work. The place was not busy at all and we were immediately seated. The server took our order soon afterwards, but just after this, had a couple come in that she recognized as repeat customers. She began a chat fest with the older couple, discussing her 3 college degrees and why she wasn't using any of them. I gave her several pleading looks after it had been quite some time, but she never took a breath. Finally, after quite some time, someone from the kitchen brought our food out, ice cold. The food probably would have been good, but the reality is, a server can make or break the entire experience. The end result was a very disappointing meal. In today's economy, going out to eat can be a rare treat, so I will not be risking my money on a repeat act at Cheers anytime soon.
