Acadia Restaurant

Description

Chef James Hale's presentation of these excellent dishes is sublime, and the taste equals the presentation. The menu offers a wonderful selection of "New American" filled with extraordinarily-good food, such as the grilled halibut with zucchini and squash. It is spicy with a hint of lemon. The pasta dishes, including angel hair with herb sauce and vegetables, are delicious and usually low calorie. The soups show flair and originality (try the creamy potato and tomato). And the desserts, from heavenly lime merengue to apple pie with coffee ice cream, are perfection.

Love this place! They have a very interesting menu, a variety of options to choose from, and a great wine list. Very romantic, great atmosphere, though sitting in the main dining room is better than the room in the back. We always go on a Monday or Tuesday night when they have a $23 set price for a three course meal. The food is fantastic and better than anything else that you will find in LR.

What began as a nice evening ended terribly. My husband, I and another couple enjoyed an evening on Acadia's lovely deck. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food better than acceptible, the service horrendous. The rolls are the same rolls served locally in another highend resturant. The lobster bisque the same as served a 1620. The salads were delicious. The menu is limited so two of our party chose the macaroni and cheese. That dish was wonderful! THe other two dishes, a pasta dish and the salmon, were adequate. Dessert, red velvet bread pudding, was not acceptible. The coup de graux, was the waiter spilling diet coke on me, not appologizing and in fact making a joke. I understand accidents happen, and had it been properly taken care of, this would have been no problem. Unfortunately, it was handeled correctly by neither the waiter nor the mamager. The four of us will not be returning to this pricey resturant. It is truely ashame since the atmosphere is wonderful!

Okay, I'm a meat and potatoes guy who wanted to take his wife to a very nice restaurant for our anniversary. When I saw the menu, I took a deep breath because the items were very gourmet and I was afraid I wouldn't find anything I would like. My salad was exceptional! My entree made me slow down to enjoy it. And dessert was simple but very very good. It was one of the few gourmet restaurants I truly enjoyed. In reality, I loved the food and the atmosphere.

Cozy Fine Dining
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/14/08
Acadia boasts a large wine selection and a fabulous menu to match. The items change so you never get board. It's a small, cozy restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere. They also have a great deck area for outdoor dining when the weather permits. It's a great neighborhood restaurant where you're likely to see someone you know.

The fixed-price menu is ideal!
By Laura Grace, 11/20/07
My husband and I have started frequenting Acadia since they started offering a fixed-price menu on Monday and Tuesday evenings. The choice of any entree, plus either two appetizers or an appetizer and a dessert, comes to only $22.50 per person. With an incredibly creative menu that changes seasonally, we have found Acadia too enticing to resist! The wait staff is also very professional and attentive. Recently, when a dessert I ordered was too rich for my liking, they offered me another choice with no questions asked.

Fabulous neighborhood restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/13/07
I've lived down the street for two years and now I'm wondering why I didn't eat here sooner. A delicious meal that made me reflexively say "mmmmmm" multiple times throughout! And it wasn't just the smooth chocolate martini talking. I wish I had room for dessert. Quiet, calming ambiance on the deck. Very nice wait staff. We were ready to order and eat shortly after being seated so I wish we had our orders taken after the drinks arrived, but we should have said something to the waiter. I'll be back for sure!

Best Place in Little Rock
By bri, 12/3/06
This is easily the best place to eat in Little Rock. The menu changes often, but each item is a wonderful change to the normal items found at other places. For instance, as an appetizer, oyster bread pudding with an artichoke cream sauce. Thought it was one of the best things I've ever had. I love the challenging menu items. Wine list is extensive. The deck area is bar far the best place to eat when weather allows.
