La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant
This family-owned and operated Mexican restaurant is always hopping. The free salsa and chips are deliciously fresh, including the extra hot green salsa (aka "salsa verde"). The taco salad, nestled in a fried tortilla shell, is wonderful and comes with your choice of chicken, steak or bean filling. The Carne Guisada is also worth trying. The friendly servers are always willing to suggest their favorite dishes. Business professionals and families alike make up the clientele here.
Great place for the price! It's great whether on a Saturday night with the family or after work (hello $2.50 margie nights) with a friend. Waiters share tables, too, you don't have to wait for your server to come around.
Wonderful, run-of-the-mill Mexican joint. Liked that we got three different salsas to eat with our chips, and we definitely appreciated $2.50 margarita night. My burrito was awesome and wasn't smothered in cheese like some other Mexican restaurants I've been to. Loved the cheese sauce. Servers were very friendly and speedy.
The food is average as far as mexican food goes. The nachos are good.....because it doesn't include any meat. The white cheese dip is good and to me that's about it. I will give the restaurant credit for having fast service. You can get in and out within no time which makes it a good stop during lunch.
If you like fruit salad, try the Tropical Fruit Salad. It is the best bang for your buck - fruit-wise, anyway. You get generous portions....way too much for one person to eat. It's always in season and is a refreshing change of pace from the regular small over-priced fruit salads you get elsewhere. Also, the Margarita's are pretty tasty, too.
Mexican food is my favorite, and I have tried every Mexican place in town. This is by far my least favorite (I have eaten there three times.) The food is below average, the salsa is not good at all, and the beans are downright gross. Go to Casa Manana or Senor Tequilas if you want good Mexican in Little Rock.
The service is excellent and the atmosphere is fun! The colorful interior with lively decor makes it feel like you're walking into a party :) The food is FANTASTIC! I've been to every Mexican restraunt in Little Rock--but compared to this one--they pale in comparison. My personal favorites are the house margarita on the rocks, the Shrimp Burrito (and I promise it's packed with the most plump, tasty shrimp--no little morsels here) and the Fried Cheesecake (drizzled with caramel and chocolate, topped with whipped cream and cherries...sooo decadent is should be a sin!)
