Loved it, handicapped accessible with wheelchairs to borrow, strollers for little ones to borrow as well. Cafe on-site with charming train set display to watch. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff, great gift shop.
Gardens are absolutely beautiful with a great children's garden to see and explore, adults will love too. This is a must see if you visit Hot Springs. It was a little far from the historic downtown but well worth the drive and scenic route leading to it.
They really got this one right. Too many botanical gardens are either overly manicured or underdeveloped; this one really nailed a lovely mix of wilderness and refinement. Do not miss the details of the chapel offered by the docent inside--who knew it was a biosphere--and how cool is that?
I would recommend making Garvan Gardens a stop on your trip to Hot Springs. This was my first time to the city and I was glad I visited the gardens. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It only costs around $7 for adult admission, senior citizens and children pay less. You can wander through the trails and see the beautiful trees and flowers. I have excellent pictures from my trip. The gardens overlook Lake Hamilton and there are many beautiful waterfalls. I would recommend going to the gardens in early morning or late afternoon in the summer because of the Arkansas heat! The garden does close rather early and opening and closing times vary depending on the season. Visit their website for more details. All in all, the gardens were a great experience and I highly recommend visiting on your trip to Hot Springs.
