We visited Belle Arti on a recent girl’s weekend trip. It was a very disappointing experience. The restaurant was outdated, the menu too broad, the food was sub-par to horrible and it was overpriced for the quality. It is obvious this restaurant had been around a long time and instead of improving on a few specialty items - they seemed to have added more and more options that don t relate. The chicken we ordered was a cutlet, the roasted potatoes smothered in a tasteless orange sauce and the green beans were straight from a can. Eggplant Parmesan was equally bad and the spaghetti sauce seemed to be of the grocery store variety. Skip this relic.
When we went there a server sat us instead of the hostess. She was not very friendly but sat us up stairs. We had an extremely nice waitress the rest of the time. We had the veal with mushrooms, cheese, and prosciutto. The other dish my table had was the filet. The steak was well cooked and very tender. The veal was very good. We finished our dinner with a chocolate crème brulee. The décor is very nice. Easily one of the best dinners we have had in a long time.
Food was way overpriced. I order the chicken fettacuni alfredo, which was 20 bucks. The chicken tasted re-heated and fake, the sauce was clumpy, the whole dish had no flavor. Took half a bottle of salt and pepper to make it edible. My girl order a pasta with spicy garlic sauce. The sauce had no spice or garlic flavor, tasted like regular tomato sauce. Would never consider going back or recomending. The only thing good about the place was our server, he did a great job and stayed on top of everything.
Now I am sad to say. Nothing was correct here. The veal tasted like pork after I dug it from under tons of sauce. The tomato sauce tasted like it came from a can. The drink was o.k. but how much can you screw up scotch on the rocks. 4 peoples bill was $268.00 including one bottle of 40.00 wine. Way to expensive. I will not be back
I'll be brief. The decor is nice. The food is not bad. The prices are a bit high in that the overall experience doesn't warrant them. If you've ever dined in a real Italian restaurant in the old days, it will become apparent to you that Belle Arti is as every bit contrived as the chain Italian restaurants. Pray you, avoid it!
This is a very nice restaurant. The food and service were first class. The decor is very nice with old world charm. A little pricey but worth it. Location is right downtown within walking distance of the hotels located near the park.
Went with friends from coast to celebrate their anniversary; could not have picked a better place. Although it was my first visit too the three of us knew the minute we walked in the door that we would be pleased and the food and service only confirmed that first impression. What a wonderful place to celebrate with friends!
