Some of the best food I've eaten in a long time. We were there late afternoon and ate outside. Service was great! Food was great! Atmosphere was great! Price was comparable to anywhere around. Very friendly! What else can I say?! We will definitely be going back.
I dont even know where to start...it was fantastic all the way around! Great Attitudes, Friendly Service, and of course Great Food. Dont get me wrong this is not your high class, grade A resturant, if thats what you are looking for go to Copelands. This place is for the people that want a nice laid back, family resturant where the people are not afraid to joke around, and get to know you and your family, which in my opinion just leads to a better experience. I personally love the fried Boudin Balls, Shrimp Poboy, and for dessert awesome Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce. To top it all off we went on Saturday July 3rd and they had a live band playing down stairs, with them playing Great all time favorites! Needless to say we can't wait to go back and bring our friends!!! Definetly just a Great experience all the way around!
Apparently Gabbeaux's has new ownership. I ate there last night and the food was horrible. The boiled crawfish tasted like someone dumped a gallon of salt in the pot, and they had obviously been cooked for some time as the crawfish were very mushy. Despite all of the great reviews, I will never eat there again.
This probably should be on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives, it is a Dive but fantastic food. We are from Texas and go to West Monroe almost every year for the National Boer Goat Show, we eat here almost every meal and sometimes twice a day! It is wonderful and do not miss the Bread Pudding, it is to die for! Along with the Crab Cakes!!!
A hidden gem in the middle of Monroe. This hole-in-the-wall (and I use that as a true term of endearment) is one of those places you might never stop if you just passed by. Trust me...stop in. The seafood gumbo was second-to-none, and the delicious blackened ribeye steak simply melts in your mouth. Side dishes were fresh and delicious, too. My waitress treated me like an old friend, even though I was just in town for business. They have a great outdoor deck that overlooks the river. Skip Chili's, Appleby's and all the other crappy chains, and discover great local food at Gabbeaux - Bayles Landing!
We were a group of 8 that came into the restaurant for a nice poboy. The prices were so outrageous for them and were the highest of all the restaurants we have ever been to. Not only was the price high, but they added on a 15% tip without even telling us about it. When we finally got our food a half hour later, everything was cold. The waitress' name was Sumner, and Miss Sumner never smiled was never polite. She would answer our questions as she walked by if she even bothered to answer us at all. We have tried to call them several times to complain over the past weeks at different times of the day, but conveniently the manager, Jill, has never been in her office. It was our worst experience ever, and we wanted to make everyone aware of how horrible this supposed #1 rated restaurant is.
I loved the food, service, and atmosphere. However, we ended up sitting on a slight hill when seated on the side of the building. It wasn't the best seating, but they were very busy. Now, we're just catching them mid-day instead of night. A wonderful place all can enjoy.
