Johnny Carino's Country Itln, Alexandria

My husband and I ate here last night, we were seated in front of the kitchen, it was so loud we could not hear each other talk. My husband ordered the Italian nachos and they were good, the minestone soup was not good at all. I watched the kitchen staff and noticed them opening packages of prepackaged food and dumping it into pans, so their food must be prepackaged. I had the lobster ravioli which was horrible, it tasted like canned tuna pressed into pasta, it had no seasoning whatsoever. The bread was good but it did not make up for everyting else that wasn't. We skipped dessert and headed to a bar so we could actually hear each other talk. Next time I will just get some Bertolli pastas and eat at home.

My husband and I went there for our anniversary, I was expecting 'olive garden' prices. Much more affordable, we had a waiter in training so I can't say anything about the service. I ate the apple salad and didn't have room for my dinner but forced a few bites to taste it (steak) and it was great! I love the atmosphere and the cream sodas :D will be going back soon.

Fast food delivered to your table is an accurate description. The noise from the kitchen drowned out any chance for dinner conversation. The waitress was timely and had all the charm of a drive up teller. Price wasn't great considering that pasta is one of the cheapest fillers anyone can get. We felt that we were eating in the middle of romper room. Also, food just wasn't as good as any medium skilled cook can turn out in a few minutes at home.

I'm sorry, but Johnny Carino's is NOT Italian food. It is fast food served to your table. I have had better tasting food from a high school cafeteria. Don't kid yourself.

Better than any other Italian restaurant in town. Everyone else sucks.

I love Johnny Carino's. The Food is excellent! The waiters are warm and friendly and make sure you are comfortable. The atmosphere is nice as well. If you ever come to Alexandria and want a nice Italian place to dine, Johnny Carnio's is the place for you!
