This was the worst place that I have ever eaten and I would not reccomend it to anyone. The manager was rude and the service was ridiculous. I hope that everyone reads my blog because it is the truth and I don't sugar coat anything. This place is horrible and I can't believe that anyone can like their food or their service. I only gave it one star because you have to otherwise Genusas would have gotten a zero...

rouble getting seated and the took 10 minutes before a server came, and then only after a friend of owner pointed out to him that I'd been sitting there. WIne list great from $60 up, surprisingly weak below that price, particularly by (overpriced) glass. Italian restaurant but only had four crappy Italian Chiantis, despite having much better Italian wines sitting around for decoration. Out of salad I ordered, dirty fork, microwaved my ziti, plate half cold, half lukewarm. Despite repeated requests, got (cold) bread at end of meal. Had two glasses of wine, one came in mini carafe with glass, next came in stemless glass - no biggy, just odd for this level restaurant.. No water refill, no offer of dessert or coffee before bringing bill. Made issues clear to server who pretended everything fine. Oh, and go to bathroom before you go - unisex john literally in a dining room with zero privacy.
I expect a lot more for $50 a head. Would have had a better dining experience at Olive Garden - and I HATE Olive Garden. Coasting on reputation. Gordon Ramsey needs to spend a couple of weeks here.
After hearing such wonderful things about Genusas I decided to give it a try. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs with a salad to go. Well after paying $17.60 for the meal...I get it home and was so dissapointed...The sauce looked and tasted like a can of tomato soup...the meatballs were like they had been boiled in water to make them appear moist. The garlic bead (which I thought was large croutons) was so dry and hard. Needless to say I will not go back there again and do not recommend it to anyone. Go buy yourself that Kraft box Spaghetti kit from wal-mart and some frozen meatballs you will save money and enjoy it a whole lot more! I will give it one star because the salad (that cost me an extra $5.00 for no joke about a cup of lettuce) was not bad.
After several outstanding recommendations, my husband and I finally tried Genusa's. But now, I am dissappointed that we did. Absolutely awful. My husband's lasagna looked like cheese enchiladas. It looked like a mixture of tomato soup and nacho cheese. He couldn't pick it up with his fork. The food was horrible. The service was not good either. You know it is bad when I recommend Fazoli's ( and italian fast food restaurant) and Olive Garden ( a chain Italian restaurant) over this place.
I have no idea what these people are thinking to even serve dishes that look and taste as horrible as this place.
Don't waste your money or time at this place.
I found the food there to be very good. The selection is not what many would expect from a small town resturant. They try bold dishes and give great service. I enjoy going here several times a year when I am in the Monroe area. Its worth searching for.
