Great snow crab legs, big portion and was so good I didn t use the butter. The week before we had hamburgers and fried catfish, we shared both and also the salad bar. Definitely a place to go and sit on the bayou, great at dusk.
Absolutely one of the best seafood restaurants in Monroe, if not North Louisiana. On our last visit, the catfish was superb; some of the best I've ever tasted. The atmosphere is terrific (dine outside on the deck overlooking the bayou if the weather is nice), and the waitstaff is friendly and attentive. When I brought my wife here from Texas for the first time, she had tears in her eyes because she loved the place and the view so very much. Now we are living in Monroe and it is our favorite place to eat.
Ate at Cypress Inn a couple of nights ago with my wife and son and I must say it was just wonderful! We had not been in a couple of years because we didn't really care for the old owners, but since we heard someone new had purchased it, we decided to try it again. I am so glad we did. The place was brighter, cleaner, and the food was wonderful! I had forgotten how pretty it is on the bayou sitting on the deck. Anyway, for anyone who hasn't eaten there in a while, I highly reccomend giving it a shot. We will definitely be back.
Hello All! Especially username JTDCBEARDEN ! Would love to inform you that Cypress Inn has just begun transition into new ownership and management. They will still serve the best crawfish, but the menu will be udergoing some changes - mostly additions, including cheese cake to the desserts! I personally do not have a hand in any of these happenings, but am pleased to be friends with the ones who are in charge.
Me and my girlfriends are going for lunch this Thursday, July 10th, and I have no doubt in my mind that the food will be better than the already-boasted-about friendly service.
My family and I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago. It has taken me this long to write because I still can not believe how we were treated by the owner of the business. My husband and two boys ordered fish and shrimp plates, while a guest of ours ordered only the shrimp plate. The fried shimp were very gritty - at first they thought part of the shells were left on before frying. We asked to see the owner of the business - he came to our table only to inform us that there was sand in the shrimp and that he thought they had sold out of the ones with sand a few weeks ago. He further told us that the sand would not hurt us - would just be gritty. Can you imagine what it feels like to eat anything that has sand in it? He then told us that he hoped we enjoyed our meal! Well at this point my husband and I were so shocked we didn't know what to say. You must understand that for us to go out and eat and spend $67.00 on a meal is extravagant for us. It is still unimaginable to me that this man, who owns a respectable business, expected us to eat the sand coated shrimp and enjoy them. We paid for the meal, left our waitress her tip and left knowing we would never enter those premises again. Needless to say on our way home we visited the local McDonald's. Thank you for reading.
This is another place that our family likes to eat at. It's a little pricey so we can't go often, but when we get to it's great. The waitresses are almost always nice. It's right on the bayou and there's a deck for dining. The kids like to go throw bread to the turtles that swim close by. I don't eat crawfish, I'm alergic to them, but my husband says they're good in season. I always get fried pickles. I highly recommend them. I love fried pickles. Can U tell?
