Once again my wife & I were very impressed with the food quality and service with La. Lagniappe Resturant. We enjoy grilled fresh fish, over the conventional fried fish offerings at so many other seafood resturants. The meal was once again A#1, and it still is our most favored place to dine out.

I love this restaurant, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The item I most enjoy is the CREAM OF CAULIFLOWER WITH ROASTED GARLIC AND JUMBO LUMP CRABMEAT SOUP WITH A DRIZZLE OF GARLIC OIL, it is hands down the absolute best soup I have ever eaten.

By far, the BEST in Baton Rouge: From the moment you walk in the door- the service is impeccable. The food has been consistently incredible since my husband and I started eating here when they first opened. Consistency is so very important- we can always count on an incredible meal and superb waitstaff. By Far the best place to eat in Baton Rouge.

Wonderful appetizer (stuffed mushrooms), very good salad dressing, good entrees, generous portions of crabmeat, fast service.

Everything about this restaurant is good, the atmosphere, the bar, the service, but the food is as good as it gets. I had the Cocodrie which is fish, topped with softshell crayfish and I think Bechamel sauce. It was so good. Everything was good. The place is a little cramped upstairs but it is actually cozy and not bad. It is the best place in town for Louisiana seafood, comparable to Mansur's on the Blvd, less pricey, and without the ambience, live piano music and waterfall.

I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. The food and the service is good. It is not cheap, but the prices are better than most places of this quality. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. I've been going there for years.

One of BR's Best Kept Secrets
By ummm...., 3/23/07
I don't know why more people haven't tried this place, but when I ask around, no one seems to know what or where I am talking about. Lagniappe has been a favorite of my husband and mine for about a year (when we moved to BR). It is pricey, but IMO it is well worth it. I felt I had to come give this place kudos after eating there for my birthday recently. If you love a good filet mignon, they have the best in town (from what I've had). When you order, make sure to ask for the lump crabmeat on top (it's worth the extra $10-15). Overal the cost is $30-$50 pp (that's with drink and app). I've joked with a friend saying this place is like a "culinary experience" but, as funny as that sounds, it truly is!

Looking for seafood?
By relayer, 2/24/07
As mentioned previously, this is probably the best seafood restaurant in BR. We've been eating at their restaurant in Destin ( I think they have since sold, but the restaurant is still there) for 15+ years and since they opened the BR location we have been extremly happy. When you go tell them your birthday, and you'll receive a letter for a free entree during the month your birthday falls. I guess they still do that..
