Parrain's Seafood, Baton Rouge

In town on business and went here on a Tuesday night (half price oyster night) based on the reviews, was DEFINITELY not disappointed. Friendly place, very good service, nice atmosphere. I had the crab n corn bisque served with fresh baked bread, half & half (fried) with crawfish tails and shrimp which included slaw (homemade with peanuts!), fries, and hush puppies. Everything was delicious, served promptly and hot (except the slaw ;-) If I have any complaint it's that I can't get a meal like this back home in IL. Based on my first of what I hope will be multiple visits I would highly recommend for anyone whether a business group, family, date, whatever.

The fried alligator was rubbery, but the catfish and shrimp were good.

Easily one of the top 10 seafood restaurants in Baton Rouge. Great atmosphere. Been there numerous times and they are consistently good. My only recommendation is to stay away from the burger. It boggles the mind that a place that cooks so well has a burger so bland. But everything else on the menu is A+. Also a great place to try alligator.

Passing through Baton Rouge -- checked Yahoo for recommended seafood restaurants. My wife and I loved the food and apparently half of Baton Rouge does too -- really crowded but got a table in the bar. The Cajun Grilled Oysters and Bacon Wrapped Shrimp appetizers are to die for!!! Grilled fish entree -- great sauce. Hushpuppies - fantastic. good choices of draft beer. This a definite great choice for seafood.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE!! I AM SOOO PICKY ABOUT SEAFOOD AND THIS IS THE ONE PLACE I CAN GO THAT HAS ONLY DISAPOINTED ME ONCE. THAT WAS THE SEAFOOD GUMBO. NO ONE MAKES IT LIKE MY GRANDMA! BUT THE SALADS WITH THE RANCH DRESSING ARE MY FAVORITE!! I WOULD EAT HERE EVERY DAY IF I COULD!!!

Love this place. Its one of the few restaurants that give you 2 whole catfish, 2 sides and a salad for $14 or $15. LOVE IT!!

I had dinner there with a large party this past weekend and it was good but could have been better. I made a complaint via internet and received a kind of smart comment suggesting what we should have ordered. I'll probably never dine their again.

Great Seafood and Pricing

Had my first visit to Parrain's Seafood tonight. We started with the Hushpuppies which were a little overcooked but had good flavor. They had some spice to them. My husband and I both had the salad and soup. Salads and dressings were great. Husband had the Seafood Gumbo which he said was delicious. I had the Shrimp and Artichoke Soup which was divine. It was FULL of artichoke which most soups don't have and was so flavorful. They don't skimp on seasoning, which I LOVE. The portions were great and the soup was served with great French bread. The only downside was the server who wasn't really quick on the draw. They had a lot of young kids working there. Definitely will go again!!!
