I'M FROM LOUISIANA AND HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SCOTT,LOUISIANA. I'M VERY ANXIOUS TO TRY YOUR CRACKLINS.THEY DO NOT MAKE THEM HERE IN LAS VEGAS,NV.I USUALLY GET THEM WHEN I'M IN LOUISIANA ON VACATION,MY NEXT TRIP.I WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOUR PLACE.
An ex-patriate Cajun now in Santa Fe, New Mexico, my family and I make Best Stop a required stop whenever we're in town each New Year's. No matter how much boudin we buy, it seems to never last long. Their beef jerky is also excellent, but you can buy any Best Stop product and never be disappointed. Now that I know they have a website, I'll arrange for Best Stop care packages to be shipped to me!
If you're on I-10 and happen to be passing through the Lafayette area, this is a MUST stop....for lunch, supper or a quick snack. Boudin, cracklins, tasso...even some stuffed rabbit is available. Best boudin in the area!
Being from the Lafayette, La area, I have eaten a lot of Boudin and Cracklins and Best Stop is about as good as it gets. They have tons of other fine meats, but when I come in from out town, I am focused on those two, and I head stright to Best Stop. They also have a really good hot sauce. T-Brud's I think it's called??? It's insanely hot, but used in moderation, it rocks.
I would put Don's in Carencro right up there with BS. I think Best Stop's cracklins are a little better, but that's splitting hairs.
