There's a surprising amount of Japanese restaurants for a city the size of Lafayette, and it's tough to find a good restaurant that has fair prices and quality food.
I've eaten at other sushi bars in town, such as Tsunami, Bonsai, Shinto, and Samurai, and they can't compare to Shangri-la.
My girlfriend and I decided to eat at the sushi bar when we entered. Upon sitting at the sushi bar, we were greeted by all the chefs, and we were given a complimentary salad, just for sitting at the sushi bar. We ordered two rolls, and then asked the chef what he recommended. He ended up making us a roll that wasn't even on the menu, and it was delicious and amazing. He called it the "Precious Roll" which I highly recommend to anyone who goes.
Service was quick, and we received our food shortly after ordering, and since we sat at the sushi bar, we could see the chef making our food, so we knew it was fresh.
In the end, we definitely enjoyed our experience, and we will definitely go back for more.
