A culinary phenomenon since 1946, Brennan's in New Orleans has created some of the world's most imaginative dishes which continue to give great pleasure to millions of discerning customers and visitors to New Orleans.Located at 417 Royal Street in the heart of the French Quarter, Brennan's Restaurant continues to receive culinary accolades from countless food critics, national publications and visitors around the world. It has also received the coveted Wine Spectator Award in recognition of its 35,000-bottle wine cellar.Owen Edward Brennan, founder, influenced the course of New Orleans gastronomy as the culinary renaissance man of his time. His vision of what fine dining should be is paralleled at Brennans today.Brennan's scrumptious breakfast menu offers entree items from Crabmeat Omelette topped with Hollandaise Sauce to the nationally popular Eggs Hussarde, a Brennan's original.
We have had reservations to Brennan s twice and have yet to be seated in less than an hour late. The last time was last week. We had a 12:30 reservation and finally were served and got out of there at 3:00. We waited for over an hour, even though there were empty tables. Also, the waiters were less than helpful. We asked questions about some of the menu items and they didn t have a clue. the service was very slow. I think they do all of this to sell more drinks. Don t listen to all the hype, I would avoid this reataurant, if you visit New Orleans.
Have very fond memories of this place from 20 years ago but I am afraid it is a bit threadbare now. Really not worth the high price you pay for poorly prepared food. The staff was over-attentive asking the same questions again and again (different waiters) and the places smelled like a men's room after a heavy Saturday night. Very disappointed.
Excellent cuisine and excellent service. This place is not to be confused with other restaurants in New Orleans that have the name Brennan in the title. Be sure to check that you are going to the right Brennan's. If you want a taste cajun, I highly recommend the Shrimp Samantha. The portions are medium to large and this dish had the right blend of seasoning to make it taste authentic. The Bananas Foster is a must. They prepare the dessert right in front of you and the display is amazing. I encountered nothing but great service during my dining experience.
Definitly a must for anyone who loves steak. Everything was very tasty and very nicely presented. The service was also excellent. Never had to ask for anything, we had 3 guys servicing our table. If you love steak then try their cowboy cut. 20oz of pure bliss.
It's New Orleans, it's the French Quarter, and it's Brennan's. We frequently visit Brennan's in Houston (yes, same ownership but a little more Texas slant on dishes). Our only disappointment was that Brennan's New Orleans was still closed on our last visit to New Orleans. We're headed back in a few weeks and will make up for the missed visit! It's a little pricey (Houston too) but the food and service make it such a dining experience that it is worth every penny.
