Port of Call
The Port of Call was established in 1963 as a steakhouse located on beautiful, historic Esplanade Avenue in the French Quarter. The Port started as a quiet, small neighborhood restaurant open only at night, and has grown into an extremely popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Today the Port of Call is world famous for the burgers and steaks. The awards are many including Zagat Survey's Best Burger, Citysearch Best Burger in New Orleans and Gambit Weekly, Best Burger. Port of Call gives many thanks to the loyal customers who return again and again and again.
IF I WANTED DIARRHEA FROM A BURGER, I'D GO TO MC DONALDS AND PAY A THIRD OF THE PRICE!!! I've come to expect roaches in New Orleans, but really? To top it all off. the bartender was a total waste of oxygen. It's safe to say I'll never be back.
All I can say is wow my husband spotted this on a food network show we were watching in prep for our trip this summer and it wasnt even a feature resturant just a little blurb at the end of the show but this one of the best meals we ate while in New Orleans. Great little local place with attitude and the best burgers I have ever eaten. We had to take a looongg walk to walk off that dinner but totally worth it. And you wont even miss french fries : )
one of the bst places we ate in nola! huge burgers great service.......good burger but I think Yo mamma have them beat!
Definitely a must visit. Don't let the dingy interior scare you away.....this place is great!
I love port of call. It is a one of a kind, hole in the wall, good food, good service kind of place. Go on weekdays at off hours to avoid the lines. Don't let its appearance fool you, it may look like a dingy bar but its a clean place with a good simple menu. If you are in New Orleans and want a great burger go to Port of Call.
