My husband and Brother and Sister-in-law were there on Saturday around 3 pm. We were waiting awhile with no service then the Manager himself came over to wait on us. We had the crab cakes and shrimp pasta, which was massive and too much sauce, it was very rich. I really didn t care for it. When we paid I gave my debit card and they made a mistake on the charge and had to void two charges before they did it right. Now today I checked my bank account and I have two charges and now I can t get anyone to answer the phone. Hopefully I will get them to answer later on.
The fried seafood platter ($18.50) had lots of shrimp, little oysters, catfish, and french fries on it, plus a pretty good stuffed crab. No hush puppies, though! The steamed vegetables was simply broccoli. Well, they do give big portions (saved the rest for tomorrow), but you better have a lot of time to wait, because it was SLOW-SLOW-SLOW (I was able to read an entire article about Roger Williams in a magazine while waiting for the order), and it was not even packed (1:10 pm). Besides the sort of poor & spotty service, it's worth trying out.
As a food critic I taste a variation of restaurants and i tried several Kenner places for a circular I produce and Stingray's by far was the best in town. The crab cakes appetizer was on point with flavor, temperature and presentation. The Shrimp Feast had a combo of fried, grilled, boiled, stuffed and shrimp creole. The steamed broccoli was delicious and fresh not frozen and the baked macaroni could not be better if it was made at home. ANYONE who says the atmosphere is dreary or not seafood like has never been in a seafood restaurant with class. i recommend this place 9/10
This is the best place to eat, better than Deannies, prices way more reasonable. I'm an earlier senior, this place is 5 star place, with New Orleans's BEST of the fried food. All the negative comments, got to be people trying to keep customers way. I don't know the owners, and me and my famly have been eating hear maybe longer than 10 years. And every time consistenty has been the same. THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO EAT!! Also our old family tradition. Always BIG SERVINGS. Thanks, Cajun Pirate
This place is REALLY HORRIBLE!!!! I ordered one thing and fifteen minutes after I paid for it the waitress advised me that they did not have what I ordered. Then I ordered the grilled pork chops with parsley potatoes, I got grilled pork chops with cajun potatoes. Once I got what I ordered the pork chops were mediocre at best and the potatoes they were UN-edible, (threw them away). I'm not the complaining type, but someone needed to know. Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!
If this place would hire a decent service staff, it would be a 4.5. The service moves at 2 speeds, SLOW and STOP! The food is very consistent, very tasty and the pricing is very fair. Lots of selection even if you don't want seafood. The Chicken parm was good, and the serving size was huge! We had boiled crawfish, which was also excellent. Overall a good value, good food, but FIX the service issues please!
I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. The service was HORRIBLE. The food was not that great either. DO NOT order the GRILLED REDFISH, it was extremely fishy tasting. It was my first time and will be my last time eating there.
I went just recently with my girlfriend and the service was great and the food was just right not to spicy salty or greasy. Everyone was really nice you could really feel the southern comfort. If your in town or shopping at the mall you should really stop by.
