Went the morning of the National Championship game, about 11 a.m. The restaraunt was mostly empty when we got there, but filled up very quickly. My wife and I got the BBQ shrimp and it was possibly the best we have ever eaten. I got the shrimp poboy and my wife the shrimp bisque and the pizza. My wife said her meal was one of the best ever. The poboy was good too. Good and friendly service. Amazing how quickly they got busy. My wife and I have heard wonderful things about Deanie's, but never went. I am glad we went and will definitely make a return trip.

Me and my friends came to new orleans for the weekend and our hotel recommended deanie's for lunch. instead of complimentary rolls they bring you red potatoes that have been boiled in like a crawfish broil with butter they were great!. had the cup of gumbo for starter soup it was really great. nice flavor. for my entree i ate the crawfish etouffe which was amazing! my friend had the crab au gratin that was also very scrumptious! Great food and great service people were very friendly

I had the half seafood platter, I have lived on the Gulf Coast for most of my adult life and have been in Florida for 12 years and I love to eat, but let me tell ya, this was some ot the best fried seafood i have ever had and more than I could eat. Not a bad price and great food, and some of the nicest folks you will ever meet. I will be back.

Arrived July 25, 2010, Stayed in the French Quarter for a week. On our second day there, my family and I walked, by choice, about 14 blocks to Deanie's on Iberville only to be told that we could not be seated because my spouse had on a sleeveless shirt (not a muscle shirt, but without sleeves). We had read the restaurant info we received--nothing about males and sleeveless shirts denied seating. In a tourist city, in the high 90's, what would one expect in attire. Of all our travels, we have never, ever encountered such foolishness. Needless, to say, we did not eat there and will not eat there. I will also not recommend it. We walked all over the Quarter to Canal St and back on several days that week with no problems. Visited many places and ate at many restaurants, without a problem. This was indeed a very bad experience for us. I will return to New Orleans some day but not Deanies.

The service should be taught in school. The best staff in the business.

Deanie's came highly recommended by bellmen at the Hilton on St Charles. I was disappointed. They recommended it over Mother's, I would have rather eaten at Mother's. They serve potatoes in lieu of bread as a starter, which may be a tradition but is kind of odd. The food was okay for fried seafood, nothing great.
