Since first opening their doors in 1965, Drago's restaurant has continuously been the premier name for oysters in New Orleans. The secret to their success is owner Drago Cvitanovich's famous Charbroiled Oysters, which are cut in half, thrown on the grill, and served with Parmesan Cheese and, of course, lots of lemon. If oysters aren't your thing, they also offer genuine Maine Lobster for a very reasonable price, and a wide variety of seafood based dishes that will make you forget about your favorite steak houses and barbecue joints. Stop into Drago's in either New Orleans, or the original restaurant in Metairie for some of New Orleans' best seafood, and that's saying a lot!
We really enjoyed it, and, overall, we gave it an excellent rating. Well, we were disappointed in the charbroiled oysters, which were not in the shells, but in aluminum casings (but, we ll give them a pass due to Hurricane Issac), but they were still okay, nonetheless. The salad was pretty good, but not great. My Maine Lobster was excellent, R s Harredarra Shrimp plate was superb and spicy, J s shrimp and grits was wonderful, but Jen s fried combo plate was only average, according to her. She said it was too bland. Overall, we loved it, and highly recommend it. The total bill, before tip, was $116.65.
Awesome food and service... I was in N.O.. for 3 days ..just last this week.. tried 4 places.. including some on Bourbon street.. Drago's crushed them hands down.. with better food, service and ambiance.

It's a must do! The food is fabulous! If you like seafood...try the charbroiled oysters..raw are good too! If you don't like seafood, there is a lot to choose from on the menu! Can't wait to try the new one in the Hilton! I've heard it is to die for! The bartenders at Drago's are the best! Their drinks are simply delicious! They are truly heavenly!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Drago's while on business. The food and the service is outstanding! The charbroiled oysters are smothered with a garlic and butter sauce that is tantalizing to your palette. The lobster is amazing, as well as the other dishes on the menu. I'm looking forward to returning to Drago's on my next visit to New Orleans.
