I have a theory about people who don't like Chances R.
Here's my theory:
Those who don't like Chances R are lost malcontents, lacking in taste buds, cheaters at cards, suffering from toenail fungus, troubled by nose hair and, worst of all, fans of Dick Cheney.
Chances R is a great American institution. It's an expression of what makes our great country so great. It's a soothing oasis.
If you want to criticize this fantastic restaurant, go right ahead. Just know that you are exposing yourself as an idiot.
And, by the way, Some Guy, please quit crawling around on the floor looking for chicken scraps. That kind of behavior is beneath even you.
I think this is the most disgusting place. I think it is unsanitary and the bosses seem very rude. The one good baker left so it is not the same at all. I will never eat here again in my life. If you want food handled..... um.yeah.... then good luck!
We come to Nebraska once a year from Georgia, and talk about Chances 'r' and what we will order when we get there. The food is beyond delicious, and the service is great. It is refreshing to see that great customer service is not dead! I don't see how anyone could come away hungry. Those who complain obviously don't know a good restaurant when they eat at one!
We will be dining there this July, and all ready our taste buds are excited!!!
I have eaten at Chances 'R several times, over the years. It has fabulous food and service. I am a life long OU football fan and they treat us great when we come in after the game. I drive from Wichita just to eat there and to just make a day trip of it. You'll be hard pressed to find a better steak and tater. Try the onion rings! Compares well to the old Dreisbach's Steak House in Grand Island (no longer in biz). Overall, I give it an 11 on a scale of 10.
Went last nite.. it is an ok place, with pretty good food (they mis-cooked 2 steaks) but we dealt with them. One was prime rib, and it had quite a bit of fat (I think the price should have been adjusted, for the amount of actual meat). But it did taste good. We did wait almost 10 mins to get refills on coffee.
The cheesecake was very good. Service was ok (cept for the coffee refill, lol). If it was the only place to eat in York, I think I would drive to Lincoln, even tho its 40 miles further (but more shopping places, too).
