What a disappointing lunch that was. We have gone to this location multiple times with our office and have spent lots of money over the last few years with company lunches, birthday lunches, and take out lunches for our office. Today we went with an expired Groupon. We were told that they would honor the amount spent on the Groupon, but not the full amount since it was expired. No issue with that, the Groupon was expired so it made sense. When it came time to pay, our server told us they would not honor the Groupon. After telling him they should, he went to get someone else. Next, a guy named John came over. Without introducing himself, he very rudely told us that they will not honor it. We told him that Groupon let us know that restaurants honor expired Groupons for the purchased amount ($15), but not the full amount ($30). He walked away for a while as we talked about how surprised we all were that he was being so short with us. He came back and tried to argue with us again, saying he was doing us a huge favor by honoring it. He also told us that the reason they don t like Groupons is because This issue took 5 minutes of my time that could have been spent with other customers. We were shocked. Nobody knew how to respond, so I said Well, we certainly didn t mean to inconvenience you with our business today. He responded with Well, as I was saying before all of you started complaining was that we don t honor Groupons. . . I interrupted him and said Actually, I think you might be making this situation worse, can we just have our checks? He said I think you re right, why don t you pay so you can be on your way! WOW. We all just sat with our jaws dropped. He walked away with our tabs. While he was away my boss talked about how much money we have spent here and how none of us had ever been talked to like that. We talked about Hiro vs. Blue and how the service and food is better and if we are going to be treated like this, we ll just go there next time. John came back with our tabs to sign with no apology or any attempt to make things right. He simply dropped them off and walked away. As we all got up to leave, John glared at me with an angry scowl from the host stand. Was he trying to stare me down?? I walked right up to him and said Excuse me, are you the manager here? He said very confidently, Yes, I am. I said, Could I have your card? He said Yep, here you go. Enjoy your next lunch at Blue! My boss said Did he just tell us to enjoy our next lunch at Blue? Yes. Yes he did. We walked out still amazed that someone would treat customers like that, and he was the MANAGER. I will never go back to this location and it would take a lot for me to even spend money at Hiro again, even though I love the downtown location. We used to have large company lunches at Hiro out west, but my boss was so angry I know we will never give them business again. I still can t believe he said Enjoy your next lunch at Blue! We will John Horvatinovich. We will.
The best Japanese restaurant in town. Better prices than Blue, Best quality in town, fantastic service. Meals that really ARE meals, not appetizers being served as meals. As for the sushi happy hour, I've always had excellent service and quality and sushi served in a timely manner. I will take Hiro over anyplace else any day of the week, even if it is a longer drive.
Whenever my friend from Chicago comes to town we go to Hiros. He has had sushi from all over the world and said it compares to most he has had. I had my first sushi here and now eat it regularly. The service has always been good. Great place to be introduced to a truly fine dinning experience.
I would never in my life go to this place again after not geting all of our food and bad service we try to leave and pay and the waiter try to charge us for food we did not get or eat the owner Milton Yen comes out with 2 knifes and yelling at us *Who wants to fight* we all scream run out and call the police. After all that the police did not do nothing to him. It sucks that out own police dont see that was wrong all over. I wanted to call the news and tell the world what happen with the owner and police...
Great food, good presentation, great service, decent prices. My boyfriend and I ate here for the first time this evening and loved it. The atmosphere is very pleasing. We were seated immediately, received quick service, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, often being checked on to see if we needed anything. Our waiter was courteous and kind, and seemed very happy to serve us. Considering the quality of the food, restaurant, and service, the price seemed worth it (especially compared to some more fast-food-y Japanese restaurants). I know I will visit again to try some other dishes and other varieties of sushi because of this great experience. (They also have a Chinese menu that I hardly even looked at!) I would recommend Hiro Sushi to anyone looking for a delicious meal at a fair price.
(Warning: They only give you chopsticks to eat with. I assume, though, that you can ask for silverware if you need.)
Best Sushi in town is an understatement. The food is amazing as is the sushi. I recommend the Peanut Butter Chicken for dinner and a roll or 2 for an app. The staff can get swamped at times but the food makes up for it. I had a bad experience at Blue(Yuppie central) so I have never gone back.
Best Sushi in Omaha hands down. The quality of fish is superb..absolutely fresh which is a must at any sushi restaurant. Service is impeccable...friendly staff who are willing to answer questions for any sushi newbie. The reverse happy hour on weekends after 10pm does get a bit busy but that's an indication of how good this place is. even then, the food is extremely fresh...no pushing of old...not so fresh fish like over at Blue during their happy hour.
My favorite Sushi place in town.. Actually, I haven't had better Sushi anywhere.. Their rolls are awesome, service is terrific, the Sushi is FRESH, and the Yin's chicken is to die for..
If your a Sushi lover this is the place to be..
From the outside, this looks like a dingy strip mall diner, but this casual spot offers some of the most
authentic Thai cuisine in the region. The quarters here are small, so expect a wait. Do not despair, once ...
This family style, Italian eatery in Northwest Omaha is extremely popular. The atmosphere is business casual and comfortable with deep
