Stokes Grill & Bar, Omaha

I truly enjoy this restaurant... my friend and I ate out on the patio. It was a beautiful evening, we had a fabulous bottle of wine and our dinner was was absolutely delicious!!! We both ordered Johnny's Big Plate... a chicken & cheese chile relleno, a steak & mushroom enchilada and a Sharon’s chicken enchilada for only $15.95! If you're dining at this restaurant for the first time, I would highly recommend this choice as you get a sampling of 3 of the best entres on the menu in my opinion! But this is a lot of food! I ended up taking home part of my chile relleno and ate it the next day... it was just as delicious cold!!! And I don't think you could go wrong on any of the wines... Stokes has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 4 years in a row! If you want a relaxing, unhurried dining experience, I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

I don't know what these people are talking about, I think Stokes is a great restaurant. They have a nice wine selection, and I have never had a bad meal. The wait staff have been courteous, concerned and helpful. I would recommend Stokes to anyone, anytime.

GARBAGE They try and act like thy're upscale with prices and snootiness.

Saturday March 15th I ordered some fire shrimp off the appetizer menu and got a bowl of seasoned oil, 6 shrimp and 4 tortillas. What am I supposed to do with that? That's a wrap? My wife has the shrimp pasta and the sauce looked like skim milk. Not a great experience for a very expensive evening with friends. I would have seriously complained but we were with a group of 8 and our request for separate tab was ignored so we took it in the shorts for that bill. Not likely to come back after that.

We had dinner there on Tuesday night and it was incredible! To top it off, they had bottles of wine at half price on Tuesdays. They have such a huge wine list, it was awesome!

My husband and I went to Stokes for dinner, they messed up my order, it took 15 min. extra for my food Then charged a extra dollar for salsa which I think is wrong its a southwestern restaurant. No restaurant should charge anything for 2 table spoons of salsa what a rip off. I will never go back, its not the money but the point.

If you love great food and a cool restaurant, then check it out. I had a Tuna filet with califlower and some very tasty seasonings. Great meal and good sized portion. I took my Mom and my brother there last night and we had an outstanding meal. The new location in the market has a comfy atmosphere. Thanks John, for a great meal!

We went to Stokes on a Saturday night, there was no wait which was wonderful. The wait staff was wonderful and the food was great. Personally I would have liked to have had some sort of bread served with the special that I chose that night which was scallops. It was very good, but seemed a little over-priced for not having a salad or bread that accompanied it. The flourless chocolate cake was out of this world. The atmosphere is wonderful. A great addition to the Old Market area!! My husband and I would reccomend it!

My wife recently went to Stokes and had a bad experience. The staff was rude, the food was average and to top it off a roach crawled across the table. I am not sure how this is rated as one of Omaha's finest restaurants. I will not be back.
