Description
From the outside, this looks like a dingy strip mall diner, but this casual spot offers some of the most authentic Thai cuisine in the region. The quarters here are small, so expect a wait. Do not despair, once you sample the food, you will understand why so many are clamoring to get in. Menu standouts include pad Thai, basil chicken and coconut chicken soup . A nice selection of beers, including several Thai brews, adds to the meal. No smoking is allowed.
My family and I have enjoyed this place for 3 years plus getting to know many of the satff. Excellent food, even better people. Favorites: Papaya Salad + Grlic Chicken (spice level 7)..
Love eating at this place. By far my most favorite choice is a soup...not sure what the name is...has chicken, lemongrass, mushrooms...I like to order the "pot" and a side of rice as my meal. This soup is like eating perfume. It is full of flavor and you do not tire of it. I agree that it is the best Thai food in Omaha.
I have eaten in this restaurants more than twice and only because people kept telling me it is good. The food has some unique stink which I guess comes from Bamboo shoots that they use, which are canned. The last time I went here, even the chicken did not seem fresh. Recently they changed their payment policy to not accept credit cards payment if the indivdual payment is for below $10, which puts me off.
They serve a lot of food. But, as Thai food goes, it is mediocre. If I go back, I'll pass on the deep-fried spring rolls. Maybe the satay. The pad thai was decidedly uninspired. The service was what I would expect at a strip mall restaurant.
I love Thai food and I travel lots to Thailand, but this is by far the least authentic Thai food place here in Omaha. Well, the restaurant itself looks very nice, but the food -in my opinion- is not good.
I ordered the Chicken Panang (which is one of my favorites) and it was more like a light soup than what it usually should be. The waiter asked me even if I did not like it and we talked about that I expected something different and he agreed with me that this is not really Panang. He mentioned that the food is not like the Thai food you would get in Thailand or somewhere else.
Well, the food was very disappointing to me. The restaurant ambiente was nice. The waiter friendly.
I would not go back to this restaurant.
This is by far the best Thai restaurant in Omaha. The wait staff is polite and the food is phenomenal. Be sure to try the Pad Thai Seafood at least once. The Thai Iced Tea is also delicious. For dessert, there's nothing that beats the Sweet Rice & Custard.
The food is okay, but not as good as Bangkok Cuisine in downtown Omaha. Their hours of operation are so limited it's impossible to get anything on the spur of the moment - and the food isn't special enough to warrant that. Not only are their hours limited, they also quit taking orders a half hour before they close. This is NOT good customer service. Obviously they don't care what anyone thinks. Heaven forbid you forget their hours of operation and get there at 1:30 or 4:30 p.m. - you'll be disappointed. How they got to be the number 6 top-rated restaurant in Omaha I'll never understand.
If you're looking for authentic thai cuisine, look no forther. Cosy little place, very friendly staff, excellent food. Beware, when the waiter asks "how hot?" a ten is pretty hot!
