El Alamo

Description

This restaurant located in the heart of Omaha's thriving Hispanic community offers friendly service, a full bar and some of the most authentic Mexican food north of the border. The traditional combination plate, which consists of an enchilada, chile relleno, taco, refried beans and rice, is a good choice for an El Alamo rookie. Other favorites include Arroz con Pollo, chimichanga and Steak Piccado. The service is good, the atmosphere is casual and the Margaritas are outstanding.

Perfection
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/2/07
This place is simply the best. I have been eating there for almost 15 years and never had a problem. The chips and salsa are great...both homemade! The beans and rice are excellent, make sure you get a meal that includes them. Also, their lunch specials are well priced! Overall...best mexican food in omaha. The owners and staff are very friendly.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/11/07
great place to eat and the owners dont forget you once you have been there.I went to taste of omaha today and saw that el alamo was there and went straight to their both and got a burrito and taco, used to live closer to resturant but moved to lavista but I still go out of my way to go down there and eat because it is worth it.I like it because it isnt very busy and they pile the food on keep it up el alamo.

Nice Inexpensive Meal.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/11/07
Fine food in a casual atmosphere. Tasty sangria! Large menu including seafood, pork, and chicken dishes. Easy parking nearby. No reservations required. Low prices for drinks.

Great food!

From the outside it doesn't look that appealing but once you sit down and eat, wow, great mexican food. Not the best ambiance or location but I strongly recommend this place if your just after some good good mexican.

Great simple food
By MAE, 7/5/06
I love this little place. It's so unassuming, but the food is really good without all the unnecessary excess that you get form some Mexican restaurants. Could eat here every week!

Actual Mexican food
By Jim, 5/26/06
While they have tacos and burritos, they have regional food from Mexico. Its really good. Particularly liked the Pollo al narajna. Chicken in mandarin oranges and almonds. Overall, a good place to eat.
