I have been to Famous Dave's a number of times, and really enjoy the food. But I have never been treated so poorly as I was tonight, and I never even got seated. I went in and asked for a table for two and, after being told it would be a 15-20 minute wait, gave the greeter my name. After about 20 minutes I watched her call people that came in after me and get them seated. Another couple that was there before us noticed the same thing, so approached the greeter and asked her about being skipped. She apologized and find them a table right away. So I went up and asked about being skipped as well, and she told me she didn't have my name but that it would just be a couple minutes. But intead of seating us right away another couple was seated. My wife then approached and asked what was going on, and greeter rather smugly said we weren't on the list. I fully understand people making mistakes, but this woman did not apologize or anything to us yet she took care of the other couple right away. I can only think of two explanations. One, she realized she made some sort of error in handling the list (I believe there were other people skipped as well) and didn't want it brought to light by having multiple people get seated out-of-cycle like the other couple. Or two, it was a race thing. See, my wife is Korean and we get this kind of thing occasionally. We try to let it roll off our back and not let people like that get to us. People staring and sneaking peeks as her is one thing, it can even be cute when little kids do it, but this was different. I for one was hungry and wanted to eat, this woman was preventing that. Although I should have asked to speak to a manager right away, my first thought was to just leave and go to one of their competitors and eat. So we went to Amarillo's and had BBQ there. When we got home I called the manager and asked to file a formal compaint. He said all the right things, but I got the feeling he was expecting the call as he didn't seem suprised. Nor did he seem too concerned about the incident. I think I will follow up in a few days during a different time of day and ask a different manager if the issue or complaint has even been mentioned. I am probably one of the most easy going customers, and easy to please, as they could have. But even I have my limits. The treatment tonight was well past discourteous and nearly disgusting. Unfortunately, all I can do is protest with my wallet by not going there again. That will probably depend on what the manager says when I go by there in a couple days.
I was sorely disappointed...but in the end...the management made amends. Our food was cold...so cold that the cheese and butter on my baked potato NEVER melted. The manager on duty did give us gift certificates to use on our next visit...so that is a plus for them. They will try to keep a customer happy and hope for return business. We did go back and after explaining the previous experience, the waiter made sure our food was hot and was very attentive to our every need.
If you are ever in a mood for a variety of tastes, go to Famous Dave's. Another reasonably priced place to eat. Where else can you go and try six different flavors of BBQ sauce? Plus, at Famous Dave's, you don't need to bring the paper towels with you...they are provided, along with handy wipes afterwards. Wonderful atmosphere, kid friendly. Handicap accessible, too.
Me and my family just visited famous Daves restraunt in Bellevue.Their is no one who knows whats going on the whole wait staff runs around like a chicken with their head cutoff no organization at the check inn station wounder they get anybody served. The food was good and the service once we got seated was ok.The air conditioning was leaking on us and our food this makes dining very enjoable free shower.Iam not sure but it could be a health hazard.and where is the manager. The manager should be checking on customers come to think about it you never see a manger at famous daves. You complain to the server best you can get. Do not expect much at this retraunt and you will not be disappointed.
Didn't blow my socks off. For a Saturday, it wasn't too crowded, although I think that played into the waitress' attitude; she wasn't attentive. True, the sauces are not spicy. Flavors are good, though. My chicken sandwich seemed to have a bit of gristle in every bite, though. The portions were large. Seems comparable to an Applebee's, or a Chili's, etc. Nothing really new - decor, atmosphere, staff, customers, or otherwise. May try it one more time, to try the one other menu item that vaguely interested me, but it's really not high on my list.
