Drover, Omaha

Been there enough times(not by choice) to say this place is waaaaayyyy over rated. The foods ok, and service is alright, but the place looks like a restaurant slash, dungeon, tourchure chamber slash cave. Lastly, the steakes are tough.

I live in Honduras (That's in Central America, people) and I travel about 4 times a year to the U.S. on Bussines and have visited many cities, just to metion a few L.A., Phoenix, Houston, Milwaukee, New York even Toronto Canada, I visited the Drover about 3 years ago and I've never found a better Prime ribe than the one I had at the Drover, Simple the Best I've ever had. Steaks here are terrific. I am a short timer here in Omaha but this is among the top 2 places I have eaten.

I thought the food was good, but not worth the price. Salad bar was average. This place probably gets really good ratings because it has been around for a while and locals really like it. Otherwise, I did not see anything that great about the place. The reason why I went was for my birthday and this web site gave it such a high rating. My rating is lower because I have had better steaks in the city for less money. Just being honest.

Wonderful. Somewhat dark. Staff very freindly. The manager very hospitable and a charming host who made the dining experience a truly enjoyable one.

i liked the filet mignon. it was as good or better than many other steak joints around the u.s. it has unique atmosphere.

The drover is not worth the drive from west omaha for me. My favorite place for a steak in west o is prestige. They have some sort of way to cook the steaks over real wood which i really like.

Our kids go to college in Omaha and we visit several times per year. We asked our son to find a great steak place not in Old Market, since that's the only place we visited. This place, recommended by a local, has excellent steak (Whiskey Marinade), an old-fashioned and very fresh salad bar, and HUGE baked potatoes slathered with butter and sour cream. It's probably a heart attack on a plate but the hungry college kids and the meat lovers were in heaven. I eat about one steak per year and was glad I saved my quota for this restaurant. The service is very attentive and the ambience casual, family-friendly and yes, probably a bit old-fashioned. This is your father's steakhouse but Dad knew a good meal when he found one.

This was the best place that I've ever had steak!! I know that other places around may be good, but this place is great!
