M's Pub

Description

Located in Omaha's historic Old Market , this ultra-popular downtown spot is where the action is. The sleek, black-and-white interior is dominated by an island-style bar stocked with an extensive selection of wines, a slew of domestic and imported beers, and a seemingly endless array of exotic cocktails. The regular menu is far from ho-hum, with big salads, tasty sandwiches and light entrees. The specialty menu changes nightly. Reservations are highly recommended.

Right place all the time!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/25/10
Great restaurant, wonderful food, great service, Cary Grant ambiance..... what more could you ask for. Right in the heart of the Old Market district of downtown Omaha. It lays down the blueprint for sophisticated fun. Pricey but good! I mean real good!!!

I have to agree with West O Girl. I went in while traveling for business. I was by myself so I sat at the bar. The female employees kept staring at me which made me very uneasy. I was going to order an entree but left after a glass of wine because of how they made me feel. I know the place has great food but they really need to give their female employees some traning on customer relations.

Downtown Delight
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/6/09
This is one of the more high priced restaurants downtown. It is completely worth every penny though. I recommend trying their pasta dishes. I haven't tried anything in this restaurant that I've disliked yet. Its a wonderful choice for a first date. Tip: Come early or be prepared to wait

Interesting Cuisine
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/08
M's Pub is a small restaurant in the Old Market area of downtown Omaha. The atmosphere is cozy, dim, and sometimes loud. The food was good...Italian with a twist. I was impressed with my meal, however, the prices are a little high. Overall, a good place to eat

M's Pub is a great place to dine in the heart of all the downtown action. Even though the name implies a pub---it can be casual or sophisticated. The menu is diverse for all kinds of appetites.

great atmosphere, food selection was good. they had a nice spread of different affordable menus, with an extensive wine list and great, fresh specials for those whom may want a full menu service. had the seared tuna special, nice portion and great flavor, tuna was done to perfection soups were all very tasty. make sure you get reservations. we got lucky and didn't need them, two parties didn't show up so we got right in, but that probably won't happen again.

Supurb Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/07
M's Pub is one of the best dining experiences in Omaha, NE. I have been there countless times and my latest visit was par for the course. Great Food, Great Selections and Low Cost. Anyone who thinks that this place has a bit of an attitude most likely is a Chain Dining Fan. Some of the other restaurants in the Old Market may have been able to take a table on a walk in, M's in usually full/booked. Do get a reservation, and be on time, with a line of poeple waiting for a walk in table you cannot blame them for giving a table to a present guest. HINT: A. If you are going to be there at 6.07 PM have a reservation for 6.15PM not 6.00PM. and B. Ricks Boatyard is not very good.

One of Omaha's best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/15/07
Obviously the people who gave bad reviews did not have reservations (which are required in such a small, popular space) or don't care enough to be on time for the reservations they had. Don't feel sorry for them one bit or listen to a word they have to say. They are just bitter they missed out. Among the multitudes of chain restaurants that are making one city in American blend into the next to the point where you have no idea even what state you are in anymore, M's Pub is a standout. I have been to restaurants in some of the best "food" cities in the world and there is nothing overrated about this place. It is a place you can take out-of-town guest to impress them with Omaha's dining or go by yourself and sit at the bar for appetizers and cocktails. You will always make a friend and never feel alone. The food is wonderful and even made an appearance in Better Homes & Gardens late last year for its specialty lavosh appetizer. Which, by the way, is fabulous in its many forms and far from overpriced. The staff is always friendly and professional, but busy, you must understand, so they cannot always be chatty. The ambiance is open and ecclectic, much like its diners. Whether you live in Omaha, even out in the urban sprawl the city is sadly becoming, or you are a visitor make your way down to the Old Market area for the best dining in the city and put M's at the top of your list. For more than 20 years now it has been one of my favorite places. Support local restaurants!!!

What ever you want
By Andrew, 2/19/07
I liked the fact that you can go in on Friday night dressed casually and have sodas and sandwiches and get in and out in 30-40 minutes. Come back the next time dressed up and have the specials and choose from a very extensive winelist and shoot the moon. The winelist is set up to allow every type of pallet and wallet. In other words, M's Pub is whatever you want it to be. Try the Lavosh or the Escargot baked in Havarti. They are to die for. I have to disagree with some of the other posts about not being friendly or that the host staff judges who is "cool enough" to eat in their restuarant. That is simply rubbish. If they are packed and you don't have a reservation, you might not get seated. That is how it works. It is reservations 1st, walk-in guests 2nd - as it should be.
