Howard's Charro Cafe
Located near a number of Omaha attractions, including Henry Doorly Zoo and Rosenblatt Stadium, this restaurant offers authentic Mexican food at affordable prices. With an atmosphere both casual and festively ethnic, this restaurant promises to be an excellent choice for a variety of dining occasions. Homemade taco shells and tortilla chips turn the everyday a la carte into a specialty item. On Friday and Saturday, guests enjoy the live music of Howard's own mariachi band.
My husband and I used to be regulars at Howard's, but the last two times we ate there, we were extremely disappointed in the margaritas. We ordered pitchers and they were mostly watered down, iced kool-aid. We enjoy the food, but margaritas are too expensive to be gypped. There are other places in Omaha that much more generous
Worst Mexican food ever. The cheese dip looked like coagulated Velveeta. We received our food in like 3 minutes after we ordered, guess it doesn't take long to put together mushy hamburger in a tortilla shell with lettuce, tomato, cheese and a bland gravy over it. Never eat there again.
Howards is one of the friendliest places around!! I don't believe that awful review about being chased out in the parking lot. That just wouldn't happen. I was born and raised at that restaraunt and now live in Texas. I still crave Howards food!!!
We have been going to Howards for many, many years, even when they were on 24th.Street.
Excellent food, the best Chili in the world. The red or green are both great.
Service is excellent esp.when Howard waits on us.
We need a Howards fix at least once a week.
Keep up the good tastes.
Lived in Omaha 67 thru 71 and always loved going to Howards. I knew Howard very well and a good friend of mine. wondering if he was still around. great guy. I live in NC and lots of mexican restaurants but none even compare to Howards. JIM
