Doc's is a great little restaurant to check out if you never been here before. We try to avoid chains and go to Mom and Pop businesses. The last time we were there, they have updated some of their decor which was nice, but I've always liked the old-school styling of this place...it gave it charm :)
Do try the Garlic Salad and they make a great hamburger steak. My kids loved the meatball in the kids spaghetti. Hubby likes the steaks and we've always received great service here. Be sure to give Doc's a try!
Can't wait to go back! Kenny, I dont think you would know what a good steak tasted like after all those years of eating your dogs crap! As for the garlic salad, you either love it or hate it. I personally don't like getting caught up in the classy flashy franchise restaurants. Doc's has an old school down home feel. They serve only CHOICE beef, not sure that comes out of a dogs rear end??? Anyways, nothing else comes close to the quality of food, service, and price here in Wichita.
I feel terrible writing a bad review, but yuk! Service was friendly but that is about as far as I will go. Way outdated and food is not good at all! The best advice I could give is to light a match and watch it burn...don't start a new restaurant...it would be just as sad.
If a person watches Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmares this place would fit the bill. I am sure it suffers the same 3 things that plague every restaurant on that show...cleanliness, food quality and menu. The menu here is rather simple, so I am guessing the other 2 are to blame here!
Steaks?? My dog could crap a better steak! The only flavor mine had was that it tasted like the gas from the grill! The famous garlic salad? are you kidding me? it was gross! I belched garlic all evening!. Even my 8 yr old son did not like his spaghetti...and he loves spaghetti! How do you make spaghetti nasty? I will never waste another dollar there!

Doc's is a great place to eat! My favorites are their garlic salad and fried chicken! The pork chops, steak and spaghetti are also good. In the past, the food was not consistently good, but, it has been, now, for quite some time. They have remodeled and now have tv screens, which is nice. The waitresses are very friendly and do an outstanding job. The prices are reasonable. It has a quiet and cozy atmosphere.
i love this place! love the garlic salad.. this was my first job i had as a teen back in the early 70's and i was the salad prep girl so i know the famous recipe to the garlic salad but i promise i won't tell. it is almost just as i remember making it love the steaks and fried chicken and the chicken livers mike and scott were my bosses back then and they were great to work for!
Good old-fashioned steak place. You'll think you're back in 1970, except for the lack of cigarette smoke. Be warned, this place is nothing fancy, but the food is good. Pretty good steaks--most under $10. Chicken livers are excellent. Really good value on the wines--$9.75 for a whole carafe, enough to share with the whole restaurant--but the red is served chilled. As for the famous garlic salad....well, it's basically just cole slaw. But GOOD cole slaw.
