Montana Mike's Steakhouse, Emporia

You know, since there is a meat packing plant right here in Emporia, you'd think you could get a decent steak in this town, so I was excited when Montana Mike's came to town. (you have to drive out to the Grand Central Hotel and Grill to get a FANTASTIC steak) Disappointment. If you order your steak close to time to leave the sometimes throw a flat iron on it to cook it faster on their grill. That just ruins a good steak, and their cuts of meat, for all their bragging about aging, aren't that tender at ALL! Overall, it's chain steak. You can make a better one at home, but if you just don't want to cook, here is a place. Non-steak items are standard, I had the chicken friend steak once, its huge and its a decent cube steak cut. Overall, pretty standard though. Service varies and their turnover seems to be higher than I would expect. Overall I don't eat here much at all.
