US Center Motel, Smith Center

We were stuck in a storm outside of Smith Center. The hotel owner recognized that people may be in need of a room and opened the hotel at 1:00am to accommodate stranded travelers. I found the hotel owner to be extremely helpful. He even helped us get our car unstuck! The hotel is clean and very easy to get to. Reasonably priced.

This small, horseshoe motel reminds me of those found along Route 66. It is clean, quiet, and well maintained. The management is friendly and go out of their way to accommodate needs. This is how motels should be run, instead of the big chains and their cold and unfriendly staff. I would recommend US Center to anyone traveling through northern Kansas.

This is a motel the way they used to make em back in the 30 s, 40 s, and 50 s. It is a horseshoe shaped hotel with a playground in the middle. The obligatory swimming pool that would have been in the middle 40 years ago is in the back corner and enclosed, thus allowing for year-round swimming. The owners/staff are friendly and helpful, and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one. We wrecked our car outside this town and ended up spending several nights here. It featured wireless computer service and HBO, and we paid only $40 per night! How can you beat that?

Reserved a room for two nights in Sept. of 2011. I was looking for cheap so I expected a little dirt. What I didn't expect was to wake up and find bed bugs. Needless to say I wasn't going to stay the second night and when I informed the owner of the reason why I wasn't staying He still refused to refund my money even for the unused night. I would rather sleep in a cow pature than stay in this place again.

I stayed at this hotel on October 24, 2011. I was in the room for about 30 minutes when I started noticing tiny bugs crawling on the bed. I then realized that the whole room was swarming with them. They were bed bugs!!! This place was disgusting!!!!
