I lived in this building when I was younger and I absolutely loved it !! Not only could I go down stares to eat one of the best stakes ever. But the apartments above where like stepping into a era gone by. And if I remember correctly. The rent was unbelievable !! I think I might move back

I have had one appetizer and two meals from Harry's. Their toast (yes, it's toasted bread; I call it toast) and tomato salsa and cheese was fantastic I would have no problem eating a metric ton of this. Their salmon was well done, not over-cooked and the smoked peppers were perfect atop the fish. Overall, a very, very nice dish. The duck breast was astonishing. How on earth can you burn the skin to an almost inedible carbon and STILL have it cold and squishy with far too much fat left underneath the scored skin? I would bet that the cook seared the duck breast skin-side down during prep and later jacked it under the salamander (too long) to re-heat and color it. The only reason I didn't send it back is because my boss was paying and they DID get the medium rare just right. Minus the skin, it was a good piece of duck that I would eat again. The berry sauce was fantastic and not too sweet. Very well thought-out and not overpowering. The most outstanding reason I have to give this place a "poor" rating is the simple fact that both of the dishes I had come with rice. I have been cooking my own, real and tasty rice since adulthood. I grew up, however on par-cooked "minute rice". I know crappy par-boiled rice when I see and taste it. Harry's uses it. A sin I cannot forgive. I will gladly wait 2 hours for an appetizer and entree; just make it worth the 2 hours and 70$ I am shelling out for it. Sorry Harry.

Probably the best Manhattan has to offer. The food is excellent and the chef has clearly trained under a master. The foie gras is one small duck liver buried in walnuts and not worth the price. The fig-prosciutto salad turned out marvelous, but would have been better without the onions. Boneless rainbow trout was good but perhaps overdone. Blame it on the Saturday night rush. Service was very slow and mealtime consumed 2 hours. Again, probably the big crowd. Recommended and could be worth 5 stars on a weekday.

My girlfriend and I went there for our 3 year anniversary, and overall it was amazing. I reserved our seats a few days before to assure we would get a table right away, and we did. The hostess even brought my girlfriend a rose because it was our anniversary. Initially, the drinks were good, a $7 dollar glass of 14 Hands Cabernet, $4 glass of Boulevard Wheat, $4 glass of Newcaslte Brown Ale. We got the crabcakes as an appetizer and they were outstanding, the only problem was for $14 I expected more than 2. My girlfriend got the Pork Roulade as her entree, I got the Harry's Chicken Gouda. Hers was amazing. Mine tasted like HOTDOGS!!!! It makes me sick to think as to why it tasted that way... I really dont want to know, but if I go back I can guaruntee I will get something else. I give 3 Stars because of the lack of quantity for $14 Crabcakes and Harry's Chicken (Hotdog) Gouda... My girlfriend would give it 4 or 5 because of the quality of the crabcakes, entree, and wine, also maybe because she didn't have to pay for it ;)

I have eaten here a many times and i love it. The desserts are fabulous. I always get the bruchetta for an appetizer, it is wonderful. You couldn't ask for better service, the wait staff are terrific.

Harry's was sold to new owners in 2007 or 2008 and, unfortunately, the dining experience has fallen dramatically. The new owners don't seem to have any grasp of fine dining. Service is still good to very good but food is critical and they no longer seem to know what quality food is. Very disappointing!

Harry's is a great place. The food is great and the service is excellent. You must try the Filet Mignon Royale. Best steak I ever had!

My mother-in-law (age 86) and wife had dinner in a booth next to two young men who were quite loudly spewing the f-word and other profanities during the entire time of our dinner. I couldn't find the manager to complain; of course, the poor waitresses had to endure this rude display of vulgarity.

Used to go to this place often when I lived in KS. Food was always top notch (though a little pricey). Probably the best place to eat if you are ever in Manhattan, KS.

Very Special Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/7/09
I love this little restaurant. It's special to me because this where my husband and I went the night we got engaged. Further, they are the best choice if you want fine dining in Manhattan. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance and has nice lighting. The food is delicious and very fresh.
