I absolutely love this place! Whenever we are in the mood for chinese, we always come here. We normally order a pick up order. It is always hot and ready when we get there. And they are all very courteous! I have recommended my friends go here, and they have all had good things to say about the food as well!
I judge delivery Chinese Food by a standards of my own making. And points that prompted me to review with the rating I did.
Egg rolls, large crispy and not oily.
Fried Dumplings, large tasty.
And the best part, they inlcuded for my egg rolls. A small cup of the good, hot mustard not the wussy mustard every other place has in the plastic packs. The kind of mustard that hits your tounge and instantly wraps around to make your nose run. Mmmm good.
After reading the other reviews, we decided to give this place a try and were very pleased. The food quality is excellent; both it and the prices are better than Boling's. I had beef, chicken and shrimp in brown sauce and it was delicious. The beef and chicken were good cuts, cooked very tender, and the shrimp were large and perfectly done. There were plenty of veggies but they definitely did NOT skimp on the meat!! The sauce, I have to say, was the tastiest brown sauce I have ever had. The hot tea was a little more delicate than other restaurants' jasmine, but not bad at all. I also had the crab rangoon, which are pretty good. I prefer a very sweet crab rangoon with a light, sweet sweet-&-sour sauce, but theirs was much more savory than sweet, and the sauce more sour. Not bad, just not my preference. I actually preferred to dip the rangoons in the brown sauce =) Finally, the service was absolutely outstanding. The staff was very helpful, quick to take our order and keep our drinks filled, and they packed our leftovers for us, even offering more rice to take home since we'd eaten it all! I highly recommend this restaurant. The food, service and price elevate it above local buffets and restaurants alike.
Good food, good service, and fair price for portions. We had the family special with Spicy Beef and Scallops in brown sauce. They gave us good appetizers and the entree was well prepared. Stick with the Chef's Special and you'll get authentic food for KC.
Quick and to the point: this is the best Chinese food in Kansas City. Less greasy and less expensive than Bo Lings, Chinese Palace uses much higher quality meats (always a problem with Chinese restaurants) and offers, bar NONE, the best crab rangoon in a 500 mile radius. For some real winners, try their Green Bean Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Mark's Chicken, Twice Cooked Pork, or any of their seafood dishes. Most dishes are at least $1-$2 less than their Bo Ling counterparts and they're not drowning in corn syrup like most Chinese food found in the midwest.
