One of my favorite mexican restaurants in town. Their white cheese dip is the best! Unfortunately the service is not the best. You constantly have to ask the waiters for drink refills, chips and salsa refills, and extra tortillas (if you get fajitas). But despite this, we go back because the food is good.
Chapalas is my favorite place to eat. I don't dare go to another Mexican restaurant because I always end up dissappointed. The Food, Margaritas and Fast service at Chapalas has spoiled me. The prices are wonderful too. I don't know another Mexican restaurant that will smother your food in white cheese dip for only an extra 55cents. The atmosphere is so inviting and the margaritas are to die for. My Mom and I will eat and drink up there all afternoon sometimes :) I Love Love this place.
My boyfriend and I really enjoy Chapala's. The queso is excellent. Service is always good and generally fast. Servers are friendly but sometimes it is a bit difficult to communicate with them.
All in all, I would recommend Chapala for a fun, tasty, affordable and vibrantly decorated dining expirence.
I have been eating at Chapala for several years. The food is always hot, tastey, and fast regardless of how busy it is. My only complaint is that the servers are very overt relative to flirting and staring at women. One server put his hand on the shoulder of one of my dates and on another gave her a high five. Certain boundaries should be respected. I will continue to eat there, it's just too good, however, I will take my dates elsewhere.
I decided to finally try this restaurant after literally years of hearing from friends about how great it is. I was very disappointed. The food was very bland, and the chips were not fresh. Very cute decore, though. Don't think I will be going back.
The wait was about 20 minutes during the dinner rush on a Friday night--not bad at all. The dining room was very loud, making it difficult to carry on a conversation.
We had the bean & cheese dip, which is wonderful. I had their standard margarita on the rocks, which was OK. They don't seem to have any options to upgrade their margarita. The entree was also OK. My wife and I both had the enchilada plate with three kinds of sauce: green, white cheese and red. The green was good. The red sauce was very sweet.
Overall there are better Mexican restaurants in Olathe.
