The wait was so long that my wife and I left. We had been waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes when we left. Also, be warned! No credit cards allowed! How a place can still be stuck in the 20th century and not accept credit cards is beyond me.
I live in Ozark, Mo...right by Lamberts actually. Lamberts is a wonderful place to eat and a truely unique and fun environment. The whole ambiance of Lamberts is the atmosphere. the throwed rolls and the downhome service is just part of the deal. Know that if you are going during tourist season (April-September) the wait will be long. There is no way around it. It is a popular stop for people who are vacationing in Branson but want to make the drive to Springfield to visit Bass Pro. If you are planning to stop...you might try less traditional eating times (early lunch or late dinner) or stopping on a weekday. I know that we eat there often during the week and usually do not have to wait for a table. Also, I have found that the larger your group, the more fun the place is.
My family and I went to Lambert's the other evening! I had always wanted to go, so my niece did it as a surprise to me!! I love the casual, family atmosphere!! And a lot of their food is great!! Especially the rolls!!! Heavenly!! A little on the 'pricey' side, until you get your dinner!!! Then you realize that it's not so high after all!! These people give you plenty to eat and more!! No excuse for going away hungry!!
Lamberts used to be a good place to eat. The last 2 times we have went the food was awful. My husband got sick from the Ribs. Please do not go there to eat. I think the Lamberts owners are writing the good reviews.
My family of 5 recently took a short vacation to the Branson Mo. area.
We certainly enjoyed the Shopping & Shows, etc. But our trip highlight had to be our visit to Lambert's Cafe. We had heard so many great stories & a relative recently saw them on the travel channel, the discovery channel & the food channel. So she mentioned we might want to check them out.
Well we most certainly did & the food was delicious & we had the nicest young lady as our server , who treated our family like we were a part of the family. She brought balloons & coloring books for our children.
We liked our visit so much we stopped back in on our way out of town.
Both of our visits were top notch!
Thank you all very much for making our trip to the Missouri Ozark's, one we will never forget & we hope to make it back again this coming spring.

This last time we ate at Lambert's, may be the LAST time we eat at Lambert's. Get this: a waitress dropped potatoes in my wife's water, aknowledged it, and then just walked off!! She didn't even pretend to be sorry. I could not believe it. Sooo NOT worth the wait. We went with my cousin to celebrate her birthday, and they did not offer us anything special to celebrate. Not only that, but they wanted to charge us double for our kids. Truly a major waste of $45.00 which, of course, you can't even charge on a credit card! If you truly want to waste your money and time on one of the WORST experiences you can have eating bad food at a behind-the-times restaurant, Lambert's Cafe is your place! Why don't they at least get a caricature artist or something out front so people can at least enjoy their wait time!!
Yes Lamberts can get busy....but that's because they are so GOOD. I have found it best if you go early, and get there right when they open. Or go during the week. Weekends are busier and expect to wait. The pork chops are out of this world!! All of the food is all you can eat....so if you eat your plate you can order more. Plus, if you go on your birthday your meal (up to $10) is FREE!
