Red Onion Cafe, Joplin

I love the Red Onion Cafe, it is delightful.

The food here is great and in a nice location. I like this business not only for the food and looks. But also the integrity of the owners. They are Christians and close their business on Sundays in respect to God commandment for resting. They don't only rest they let their staff also rest! Their staff is very friendly and I highly recommend others to try it out!

This is my absolute favorite restaraunt in town. I have not ever had something there that I have disliked. The tuxedo chicken is superb, the salads are fantastic, the smoked chicken dip is SOOO good, and the French Onion Soup is something people write romance novels about! I have never experienced bad service there. It is a Christian owned establishment, and the atmosphere is always beautiful and romantic. The only downfall is that this gem is not a secret, so if you plan on going there for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night, you better get there early to beat out the hordes of people who are after the soup!

I've visited the Red Onion multiple times and every visit was as good as the first. Excellent food, wonderful ambiance. Sometimes it gets a little crowded at lunch.

When I was a little girl growing up in Joplin, I always thought that Red Onion Cafe was for rich people; after all, it is a cafe. Just recently I decided to dine here. The overall surroundings are very unique; it is quaint and in neutral colors. The service is excellent; the waitress I had was very attentive. The food is the best part; a well thought out menu with red onion in several of the dishes. The price is not bad. It averages about $9 for a meal.
